we are going to have to make sure fandom is a safe space for everyone because it’s about to be the only safe space for certain people to exist in

To Nicole's credit I am not much better I just run off a queue on my others blogs so I have more time to catch my screwups <3 ~ mod Lucy

81. Do you always order the same thing at a restaurant or order something different each time?
i have too many dietary restrictions to really experiment with a lot of variety in restaurants so I usually order the same thing every time

100?
100. How would you celebrate your 100th birthday?
tbh I didn't expect to make it this far, everything from here on out is freestyle
I dont generally celebrate birthdays anyway but if I made it to 100 I'd probably want to do something related to a large sword and maybe being weird in the woods. as you do

75. What’s one annoying thing about your culture?
honey im american we're gonna have to narrow that down. living in the midwest i'd say the pride of Chick fil-a and fried chicken in general annoys me, I just don't see how that's something to be proud of

filling the queue ask night
hi friends! I’m (Lucy) filling the queue tonight! to help with that monotony come ask me questions! I’ll post an ask list but the more the merrier!
~ Mod Lucy
Thank you for letting us still submit as anon. I’d rather be mysterious for no real reason than attach my ideas to my blog!
of course! We’re glad to have you, even as an anon! ~ Mod Lucy
Have you ever considered limiting the number of submissions one person can make at a time? I don't know if others feel the same, but it can be very frustrating to submit an AU and then have to wait months for it to appear because some users submit dozens at once. (I hope this isn't rude, just a question.)
Hi! I’m really glad you asked this because we don’t get to explain often.
This blog is fueled by submissions and AU lists. That’s why sometimes you may see 1 or 2 posts by the same author, or 12 in a row.
We post once a day (hence the name) so it takes a long time to get through the queue.
We keep the queue at an average of 100-200 posts since both Nicole and I have day jobs which make maintenance of this blog harder. So we are only filling the queue once every month or so.
That said, even if you submitted a prompt today and we added it to the queue today, it wouldn’t be posted for several months, just by nature of how many prompts we have to go through and how we only post once a day.
We could shuffle the queue or have it post newest first instead of oldest, but that wouldn’t be any fairer.
In answer to your original question, no we do not and will not limit the number of submissions from any single user. It isn’t fair to them, and it doesn’t make sense given the way the blog is run. I hope this helps!~ Mod Lucy
Sorry, one thing that can get your submissions added to the queue faster is if you format it correctly. If we have to re-format your prompts we aren’t going to add it until we have time set aside to fix it.

What’s your process with naming characters? I always find it interesting how different everyone does it
i tend to put way too much meaning into how I name characters. In this book they’re all plants of gemstones so I can go into the supposed meanings of those. My dogs are both named after goddesses (sun and moon) and my cat is Opal because she’s beautiful and bad luck.
Thanks for asking!

7. What’s the core concept or logline? (Mostly just because you tossed out logline like most people know what that is...I’m a published author and hadn’t heard that specific term until I was reading a marketing book)
yeah I fully admit I did not have one until someone asked earlier. I think they’re more used for movies
“ A desperate mother is forced to re-visit her mafia past and rely on old skills -both magical and mundane- to rescue her kidnapped daughter from the very people she once called family. “

96. What can I do to better foreshadow where the characters are going to be at the end of the story?
(spoiler) In the end they're going to force the MC to choose between re-joining the ‘mafia-adjacent criminal organization’ or letting her daughter be drafted in. She chooses her daughter's safety (obviously) but that means she never sees her daughter again. sets up for hopeful book 2.
So in terms of foreshadowing, I'm putting a lot of ‘i put my daughter first’ type stuff like how she left the group to keep her daughter safe etc. etc.
