“This was the most physically taxing of all the film because of the lightsaber duels. Everytime I wasn’t shooting, I was rehearsing. Something that took weeks and weeks to shoot, even though it only lasts a few minutes on film. So it taxed me to the limit.”

Sometimes it’s the people you don’t notice who matter just as much:
The guy in the Great Britain track suit teaching Mark Hamill how to handle a light sabre is Bob Anderson, British Olympian fencer and national coach, and fight choreographer extraordinaire. He doubled for David Prowse as Darth Vader in all the light sabre duel scenes in the original SW trilogy and was the fight director for The Princess Bride. A great coach and a wonderful human. I was fortunate to train with him a few times after he moved to Canada, and he introduced me to his favourite club in London before we moved there; I owe him a number of life-long friends. Bob passed away in 2012.
