@national-shitpost-registry This is a modular synth! Basically an instrument that works with voltage that you can control in order to generate and modulate different parameters to create sound, logic and, eventually, music. Here what is happening is that the mushroom is controlling the voltage thanks to the pin. By doing that, all the parameters connected to the mushroom went crazy, probably because it generates a really weird voltage and in a very random way. You can check a youtuber called Andrew Huang and his music and also Omri Cohen to learn how to do it yourself with a freeware called VCV Rack!

The electricity generated by the mushrooms has to do with the hyphae, the ‘roots’ of the mushroom, that make up the organism! The ends of the hyphae contain potassium ions that the mushroom uses to send electric pulses across its mycelium! It’s theorised that this is how distant parts of a mushroom ‘know’ what’s happening to each other!

Wintergatan - Marble Music Machine (2000 marbles)

This is incredible! At first i was like hmm that doesn’t sound like music, then the dude drops the beat hard.

@zooeyscigar and @bootsnblossoms, I think you’ll love this, darlings!

*jaw drop* Not only is the sound amazing and gorgeous, but to think someone spent probably hundreds of hours to dream this up and make it… Human imagination and ingenuity is incredible.

This is the prototype! It could only play the one song and the forces of the marbles started tearing it apart almost immediately. He’s building a new one, something he can transport for tours and do multiple songs with. You can find him on YouTube giving weekly updates on how the new one is doing.

Modular Eco-Housing Pushing Boundaries With Cardboard

Designed and developed by Fiction Factory, a company of creative makers from Amsterdam, Wikkelhouse loosely translates to ‘wrapped house.’ This sustainable modular house is uniquely created with cardboards its main building material and is customizable in its size and function. The Wikkelhouse is built from 24 layers of top-quality cardboard wound around a rotating house-shaped mould. These layers are then bonded with an eco-friendly superglue to create durability and optimal insulation. This is where the name Wikkelhouse comes from, as ‘wikkelen’ is the Dutch word for ‘wrapping.’ The house is then finished with waterproof foil and wood-paneling to protect it from the elements.
