Plesiosaurs Are Still Alive!!
It’s a well accepted theory that lake monsters from around the world mostly resemble plesiosaurs. But could the prehistoric dinosaur truly have survived its mass extinction event? Plesiosaurs are marine reptiles that were most common during the Jurassic period and were found in oceans world wide. Is it possible some still live? Most lakes around the world that report plesiosaur type lake monsters are actually connected to oceans which would allow for these prehistoric ocean dwellers to enter these lakes.
Loch Ness is most famous for Nessie, the Loch Ness Monster. Loch Ness is actually connected to the ocean on its north side through the River Ness, which connects to the North Sea. On its south side, Loch Ness is connected to the ocean by the River Lochy, which empties into the Inner Seas off the West Coast of Scotland.
Lake Champlain is most famous for Champ, the Lake Champlain Monster. On its south side Lake Champlain empties into the Hudson River which empties into the Atlantic Ocean. On its north side Lake Champlain is connected to the Rivière Richelieu, which is connected to Lac Saint-Pierre, then ultimately the Gulf Of Saint Lawrence.
Other lakes that report “Nessie” type creatures that are connected to the ocean include but are not limited to Lake Erie, Lake Norman (of which I recently wrote about), Okanagan Lake, Lake Manitoba, Lake Ontario, Lake Winnipegosis, Lake Superior, Loch Morar, and many more. Plesiosaurs would have access to all the above mentioned lakes and be able to enter and exit as much as they please. However so could all other marine life, so could misidentification be the source of these sightings? Do you think plesiosaurs still roam our oceans? If plesiosaurs are still alive, could other dinosaurs still be alive as well? Let me know what you think, stay curious!
Go ahead and find lakes that report monsters and find out if they connect to an ocean!
