Man on Mars?

This photo taken by the Curiosity Rover on Mars shows what appears to be the shadow of a humanoid next to the rover, supposedly doing some sort of maintenance on it. Those who have studied the image say it shows a human in a space suit but with no helmet on as hair can be seen on the shadow's head. They also say there is an air tank or backpack being worn by the person. Those who have seen the photo claim it is irrefutable proof of men on Mars.

Perhaps the photo deserves a closer look. Maybe it's not the shadow of a person, but maybe the shadow just looks like a person. It is popular belief that the shadow is actually just a shadow of the rover and people just think it's a human. Another common theory is that the shadow is that of a human and the photo shows proof that the rover isn't on Mars at all but it's actually still on Earth.

Whatever theory is correct it's undeniable that the photo is weird. People love to point out anything that looks out of the ordinary captured by Curiosity, this photo will just be added to the list of unexplained images captured on the surface of Mars.

The CE-5 Initiative

Created by CSETI, the CE-5 Initiative’s goal is to establish mutual bilateral communication with Extraterrestrial Intelligence (ETI). The goal is for humans to interact and communicate peacefully and willingly with ETI, and to build a relationship based upon mutual respect for one another and learning. It aims to be human-initiated contact where a human voluntarily contacts the extraterrestrial instead of being abducted against his/her will. Communication methods involve light, sound and thought which is said to be the primary mode of contact. The initiative believes in peaceful communication and cooperation. They assume that ETI intentions are non-hostile and that they wish for the same intent from humans. The end goal is to build a peaceful relationship to learn from one another and to reach common goals in establishing a coexisting life.

UFO’s in Ancient Art

The presence of UFO’s is nothing new. Stories of flying objects and extra terrestrial contact is all throughout history. This painting called “The Madonna with Saint Giovannino” was painted by Domenico Ghirlandaio in the mid 15th century. It depicts The Virgin Mary but most interesting about this painting is the flying object in the background. The object appears to be giving off light and a man and his dog can both be seen looking up at the object. This is very strange but not the only of its kind. Many paintings from throughout history feature flying objects. But why? At the time flying was impossible for the human race, as humans didn’t have the ability to fly until 1903. So what were these objects?

Could artists have included these objects into their paintings as a way to document what they were seeing? Nowadays if we see something strange we snap a photo of it but that technology didn’t exist then. Could artists paint these objects to document them as evidence? Perhaps it was their way of capturing evidence. Something to note is that these flying objects are most common throughout religious paintings. Is it possible that UFO’s were seen throughout biblical times?

The thought of ancient aliens is nothing new as many people believe extra terrestrials have influenced the course of human history in many ways. Many believe they are responsible for Stonehenge and the Egyptian pyramids. Have humans truly been visited by aliens throughout history? Have they influenced our evolution as a species? Why do so many paintings feature UFO’s? Particularly why do so many religious paintings have UFO’s in them? The answers may be lost to history, all we have are the paintings left behind by those before us to give us clues.
