Just finished "Fulgrim" and I would like to sue Games Workshop and mr. McNeill for the emotional devastation of how things started and ended between Ferrus and Fulgrim
Continuing (finally) to read "Fulgrim" and I will sue the author for emotional damages of seeing all these nice and lovely moments between characters, while knowing how it will end.
Also by far every second interaction between Fulgrim and Ferrus was either downright adorable or peak family comedy. Won't go like this for long, i feel.
But. There was this moment with them, where, at least according to translation, Fulgrim is all fancy chilling in the deck chair and sipping wine, while Ferrus is doing n-th circle across the room and later asked by Fulgrim to maybe stop before he will trample a trench in this, as a matter of fact, pretty expensive marble.
Like, excuse me, this is killing me.
Reading about Iron Hands and Emperor's Children (including their Primarchs) being best buddies for life is a certain kind of hell, because this is just so sweet, but I also know how it will end and this is pain.
Also okay, issuing a statement about going to make the bestest weapon Terra have even seen while striking a showy pose is... Fulgrim, you perfect dramatic meow meow.
Finished Flight of the Eisenstein. Well, almost, have a dozen or so pages left.
Which means I am reading Fulgrim (the book) next, which is exciting, because I get to see the horrible shenanigans of Fulgrim (the dude).
Also I am not sure, I think I may have not published my notes on Galaxy in Flames?
Reading Flight of Eisenstein and for the posterity, if nothing changes and nothing would change I bet, I am coming for Ignatius Grulgor knees.
The only reaction I have to this guy by far is rage.
Crys Reads Horus Heresy: False Gods

Previous book: Horus Rising
And now for the assortment of my deranged notes. I am excluding some quotes I wrote down in Russian and might mix up names a bit where the translation is very different from the original:

So, I finished False Gods yesterday and the main emotion I have for now is "Horus, you giant anime walnut"
Yes, of course, why to use giant cathedral-bearing battle robots of doom you were using extensively all other days to shoot at the obvious trap, no, we must get closer and stab them with our space swords in glorious melee.
This is how you get stabbed and die a horrible death.
In his defense, after Loken brought this up he at least tried shooting at stuff with giant battle robots, but only a bit.
I slap his balding head. Twice.
I can believe Sindermann accidentally summoned a daemon by reading Erebus' head scribbles out loud.
Is everything about this guy just a massive haha, screw you to the world?
This book gave me both Magnus (trying his best, being amazing space wizard in a feathered cloak) and Fulgrim (being fabulous bastard (affectionate) and having, apparently, few people carry his cloak after him). I am so damn happy.
However Horus also decided to listed to Erebus, so I am also suffering.

Okay, this moment in the False Gods with Horus introducing Mournival to Petronella.
While they were wrestling Torgaddon so he will not tell a joke about damn bear again. With Loken specifically holding Torgaddon head under an elbow.
Amazing. The gift that keeps on giving. The most epic "behold... My friends!" moment imaginable.

And now for the assortment of my deranged notes:
Horus Rising - finished! Now onto the False Gods.
And some time later I will go over and make post of my notes regarding the book too. I posted some of these, but not much.
And like, yeah, this is not some big analysis, more like "here is a fun joke Horus said!" or "here comes Erebus and here comes my ache to throw hands with him!" or "and yet again we are shown human civilization that has reasonably calmer tits compared to Imperium!"
Lucius "Hey, maybe Emperor made those giant murderbugs and set them loose in the space so we will have strong oponents to fight with"
Vs
Saul "Surely those murderbugs who open power armour like soup cans and move so fast they outpace Astartes sense must understand human superiority over them. Maybe they are jealous?"
Fight
My biggest pet peeve with reading this Russian translation of Horse Hearsay for now is that they insist on writing out all those number designation for fleets and planets by words.
Which means that I am dealing with passages like "четыреста двадцатый и шестьдесят девятый флоты идут к планете сто сорок двадцать три" on a regular basis while reading and then it would be important for plot, but I am sorry, I have one braincell and I can barely remember actually interesting details.
Like Horus' secret club poking fun at Abby Not Yet Despoiler.
So I am reading Horus Rising and there is this moment with Torgaddon going basically
"Oh yeah, Wolves of Fenris are certainly the best. Why? They are completely deranged. Now, if we are speaking about somewhat sensible Legions though..."
And like, I hope this is not just Russian translator having a heated gamer moment. This came out of nowhere, made me choke on my tea and is charged with an attempt on my life.
