it could be in your no chaos AU the Emperor was for all his power in reality just a petty egotistical narcissist who due to his sheer psychic might was able to fuck with reality in such a way that he could change it to suit his ego. And that he wasn't in fact a genius at all. Just some stupidly lucky jackass who is in fact not even all that smart. He just thinks he's is. Ironically In other words just another Ork warboss in human form I guess.
Important note from the ask I got recently:
And now my original answer:
Listen, if anyone would tell me that Imperium is not operating on ork logic when it comes to the line of command with the biggest and goldest being in charge, I don't know.
But also I think you seriously might be onto something here, friend.
Here’s some more Fulgrim being Fulgrim, on another of the hilarious Bad Guy Zoom Calls in The Lost and the Damned:
I really need to start typing these out for screen readers, so:
“Abaddon snarled. ‘You, Fulgrim, and you, Angron, have whored yourselves out to the gods in the warp.’
Angron raged in silence. Fulgrim tittered girlishly. Abaddon glared at him. Fulgrim pulled a lewd face.”
I will start up this shiny new blog with one of the best parts of The Lost and the Damned: where the newly ascended Daemon Primarch Angron joins the bad guy Zoom meeting.
You know what an interesting Heresy AU would be?
What if Chaos didn’t corrupt the traitor legions?
How would of things shaken out with out demon temptations.
Do you see it as more like Chaos is being taken out of existence and equation completely or, say, Chaos still being a thing, but Imperium just having whole Heresy dumpster fire happen purely on their own?
Because honestly both sound like an interesting possibility.
Tone down chaos or just have it absent, either or would make an interesting AU.
For some reason, and this is probably just me with my crack, but I can’t stop thinking about setup where Chaos as malevolent Warp entities do not exist or mostly don’t exist, but Emperor is for whatever reason convinced that they do and are HUGE problem, it obviously affecting his decisions.
After millions of years, Emperor gone senile.
Which then paints the heresy and Horus trying to save everyone from a deranged old man.
And they loyalist are refusing to admit to dads deteriating state.
I guess even beyond the obvious crack of the situation with “Father, what are you on about, what Ruinous Powers?” it would also be pretty ironic considering how Emperor has this whole thing with bringing down cults and religions and superstitions, but would have this one issue of his own.
Can also be interesting for the story that would focus on something like, showing that neither Primarchs nor Emperor are infallible and in the end more human that you might think initially. Idk.

So, after chatting with a friend I have several thoughts to share:
1) Oona falling to Chaos would have been terrible, horrible absolutely bad time for everyone around, because she would be an absolute creacher, running around creating nightmarish forests with horrific monsters
2) It would also be very sexy of her, so I will make a possible design. First rough draft to be seen above.
Just finished "Fulgrim" and I would like to sue Games Workshop and mr. McNeill for the emotional devastation of how things started and ended between Ferrus and Fulgrim
There wasn’t any lore for Oona in a hot while, so here are some random facts about the 12 feet of disaster. The bit about the mug was co-authored by a dear friend:
Continuing (finally) to read "Fulgrim" and I will sue the author for emotional damages of seeing all these nice and lovely moments between characters, while knowing how it will end.
Also by far every second interaction between Fulgrim and Ferrus was either downright adorable or peak family comedy. Won't go like this for long, i feel.
But. There was this moment with them, where, at least according to translation, Fulgrim is all fancy chilling in the deck chair and sipping wine, while Ferrus is doing n-th circle across the room and later asked by Fulgrim to maybe stop before he will trample a trench in this, as a matter of fact, pretty expensive marble.
Like, excuse me, this is killing me.
Reading about Iron Hands and Emperor's Children (including their Primarchs) being best buddies for life is a certain kind of hell, because this is just so sweet, but I also know how it will end and this is pain.
Also okay, issuing a statement about going to make the bestest weapon Terra have even seen while striking a showy pose is... Fulgrim, you perfect dramatic meow meow.
Finished Flight of the Eisenstein. Well, almost, have a dozen or so pages left.
Which means I am reading Fulgrim (the book) next, which is exciting, because I get to see the horrible shenanigans of Fulgrim (the dude).
Also I am not sure, I think I may have not published my notes on Galaxy in Flames?

And now for the assortment of my deranged notes. I am excluding some quotes I wrote down in Russian and might mix up names a bit where the translation is very different from the original:
Hey, Warhammer mutuals/followers/random people seeing this, what is your opinion on Fulgrim (book) from the beginning of Horus Heresy series?
Would it be a good entertainment and provide me quality content of Fulgrim (dude) and/or Emperor's Chidren as a whole? Preferably content I can meme like there is no tomorrow.
Or am I looking forward to disappointment?
