New chapter of my Cherik fic is out! Finally, after like 5 hours of writing today, lol.

Here is a snippet of domestic Cherik:

“I helped him when he needed it.” Charles glanced over his shoulder, making eye-contact with Erik. His whole face softened instantly, the corner of his mouth quirking up in a smile. “And now he is helping me when I need it. You see?”

“Huh,” Sean said, not managing to produce any more eloquent words.

Alex patted Sean on the back. “It’s how they work, y’know? Pretend its business when they actually want to see each other.”

Charles almost choked on his own saliva. Erik stiffened in the doorway; brows raised in Charles’s direction. This wasn’t the right moment to unpack that sentence, and Charles truly didn’t know where to begin, so instead he gestured Erik over with a flick of his wrist.

“Could you pour the pasta into the sauce while I mix it?”

Erik nodded firmly. Their hands brushed as Charles passed the strainer full of noodles between them. Erik’s thoughts were screaming in Charles’s direction: Is it true, Charles? Do you just like to see me?

Obviously, Charles responded with a smirk. And I know your answer, considering you literally climbed through my bedroom window for the chance to apologize.

As much as I like the thought of Charles and Erik being lovers throughout First Class... What if they ALMOST were, on the night before Cuba? All that building tension, all that flirting and banter... But Charles rejected Erik so he could be objective for the mission, even though he wanted it just as bad?! And that's why there's so much tension in Cuba, and it goes the way it does?!?! They were so close to EVERYTHING and so they lost everything, too.

HE KEEPS SHAW FROZEN IN SPACE AND EVEN LIVES THROUGH HIS DEATH. #because in that moment it is erik vs. shaw - and charles chooses erik. #that was what erik’s damn tears were for in that scene people. because CHARLES SACRIFICES HIS MORAL CODE#AND LETS ERIK KILL THE MAN HE SO VEHEMENTLY HATED BECAUSE HE COULDN’T SACRIFICE HIM. #and then erik gives him THE choice outside the train station - kill me or save the girl. kill me or i will kill all these soldiers. #and charles can’t do it. AND THEN THE BULLET. (AND BEFORE THE COIN.) #because charles can make sacrifices - sure. but not when those sacrifices include erik. #because IT IS ALWAYS OURS. IT IS ALWAYS US.#and erik realizes this. he understands this. and he can’t deal with it - so he insults charles for it. STILL UNWILLING TO MAKE SACRIFICES. #because charles is still unwilling to sacrifice erik. he will always be unwilling to sacrifice erik.
