Why is it that MSR breakup is the worst of all breakups 😭😭😭😭
Because we know that they would do (and have done) anything to make it work. They’ll beat death, take down the government, give anything and lose anyone to keep each other safe. And it’s still not enough.
That’s heartbreaking.
It’s a cruel exercise in narrative twist.
It defies logic. It defies what we know of them, because to let go of each other they betray themselves and everything they have given up for their truth. It hurts because to make it make sense, we have to shatter what was beautiful about before. To find a reason for their breakup, we have to destroy what was purest about them.
It’s not a breakup so much as a total annihilation of two people we have been taught to love, and the love that holds them together. It changes everything. It is soul crushing
In act of karmic perfection, an insulted Mother Nature rearranged her furniture, preventing X-Files series creator Chris Carter from airing his backwards, non-interesting opinions and mansplaining thoughts on the end of The X-Files at the TCA and other events.
After years of denying his characters narrative conclusion, it seems fitting that Carter was denied the opportunity to once again explain how great cliffhangers are in too many words.
Instead, long-standing cast and creative's were able to thoughtfully express their opinions without interruption, eye rolling or use of the words alien DNA.
