Are you going to the Ghent comic con? I'm not interested in the whole con scene, but *sigh*, Gillian...
I am not nonny. I made it to Chicago, and am glad I did, but I enjoyed it because of the other fans, the chance to visit and amazing city, and to meet the fandom people I met. The panel for me was honestly kinda a let down, I get acute second hand embarassment, and almost crawled under my seat at some of the questions/awkwardness. Also, although the signing stuff can be fun, it can be stressful and rushed and a bit artificial and while it’s perfect for some people, it’s just not an environment where I thrive. I feel like I got my fill of the con set-up, there, and having been lucky enough to get my speedo signed and then super lucky to get a chance to really talk to Gillian informally on another occasion, I can’t see myself travelling just for a con again any time soon. I feel like I’ve had my go and that’s okay.
That said, if there’s another Chicago (half the fandom showing up) or an event in London with a Q&A (especially one with a pre-approved question list) I’d definitely consider attending/hosting another bash, even if I skipped the signing/VIP malarkey. I’d rather spend my money travelling to see philey-friends than on standing in line for a terrifying photo op…
Really though I’m just hoping for some London theatre work from Ms Anderson, so I can admire her in her most beloved, and my longest-loved format.
