Steven Grant as Spongebob
Moon Knight Episode 4 + Text Posts
Sweetheart. How did you not think something was amiss when you looked in the mirror after you showered?
You didn’t question why or how you are absolutely ripped despite barely being capable of finding pants the correct length?
I mean.... baby, you run like a Monty Python character.
One taught me love
One taught me patience
And one taught me pain
And one taught me to hate stupid manipulative pigeons.
Oscar Isaac as Steven Grant/Marc Spector →Moon Knight S1:E2 “Summon the Suit”
What we all wanted to see at the end of episode 6.
→ Hieroglyph(s) are the symbols and drawn images used in Ancient Egyptian writing. “Did you have time to translate those hieroglyphs, Steven?”
→ Hieroglyphic is an adjective describing something that resembles or relates to groups of hieroglyphs. ‘Hieroglyphics’ is a rarely used term and is NOT interchangeable with ‘hieroglyphs’. “It was interesting, the symbols were hieroglyphic in nature but didn’t make sense when translated. It has to be another dialect.”
→ Hieratic is the cursive written language of hieroglyphs on papyrus scrolls or other forms of media (wall paintings, a limestone ostracon, etc..). “Can you write me a love letter in hieratic?”
Oscar Isaac as Steven Grant → Moon Knight S1:E1 “The Goldfish Problem”
I'm watching Assembled: The Making of Moon Knight, and there's a nice closeup of the chest area of the costume. I noticed something funny about the hieroglyphs on the right side of the decal.
I can read hieratic, so I translated it. It was a simple alphabetic translation, not syllabic, meaning each hieroglyph corresponds to an English letter to spell an English word.
AND NO JOKE, the sandy moon pigeon himself SIGNED HIS OWN NAME on the suit.
(The animal/human hieroglyphs always look toward the beginning of the text, so the quail chick should actually be facing the other way, but I'm ignoring that and assuming Ramy Romany was overridden on that decision. lol)
OSCAR ISAAC in the Suit™ THE MAKING OF M🌑 🌔N KNIGHT (2022-)
Imagine he's pushing your door open when you try to shut it on him. He's about to bend you over his knee and you're going to love every minute of it.
#i would like to thank not only god but also jesus for this thrilling triology of events
I just wanted to make everyone aware of a MASSIVE error in the SDH/closed captioning for Episode 5: "Asylum".
At 36:34, when Marc is kneeling in the street sobbing, the captions have him saying "I'm so sorry" twice, as seen here:
As someone who is hearing-abled, I can confirm that this is 100% INCORRECT. Marc Spector's repeated dialogue line is actually:
"I was just a little boy."
(Edit: It could also be “I was just a boy” but the meaning behind it doesn’t change.)
This error changes the entire emotional impact of this scene when you understand he was not apologizing to his kippah, he was remembering the abuse he suffered at his mother's hands and how her death did not erase that trauma. This is why Steven took over shortly after.
I know this line may have left many fans out there who do not have the luxury of actually hearing Marc Spector's line very confused and I hope this helps answer some of those questions. I've already emailed Disney's closed captioning department to report the error, but I'm unsure if it'll ever get fixed, so I wanted to share and clarify for anyone out there who needs it.
