Sam eyed you carefully, but you could see the desperation in his eyes and he sighed with a nod, agreeing to your conditions. “Understood, and thank you for giving it a shot.” He bent down and began removing the cloth from around the circle. Sure, you had the opportunity to run, but you had no idea where you were and had the sneaking suspicion that you wouldn’t make it far. “For what it’s worth… I’m sorry about Calliope.”
“I know you kind of had no choice,” you responded as several emotions and feelings flooded your senses the more the barrier was removed. Apparently water from the river Lethe not only traps you, but it also acts like a dampener on your ability to sense things. The emotions coming from Dean were now extremely potent, allowing you to basically taste them in the air, and you coughed as your taste buds were assaulted with bitterness.
“Are you okay?” Sam asked, placing his hand on your arm.
A flash of memory made you jump the moment Sam’s skin was on yours, and you moaned softly at the rich taste of pure lust. Whatever memory Sam had accidently just shared with you was something raw and passionate, but he removed his hand before you could get anything more than a grunted name between harsh breaths.
“Who’s Ruby?” you asked with a teasing smile. The look on Sam’s face was a mixture between flustered and ashamed, but you could also feel something stronger, something darker, linking him to that memory. It almost felt like you were sensing an addiction. “What did she do to you, Sam?”
