Anybody else up at 2am thinking about how when Silver met Flint he recognized how dangerous Flint was, but thought he could manage him as an ally and keep his objectivity --- and then he was swept up into Flint's story and consumed by it until they were bound together in darkness so close it was hard to tell where one ended and the other began, there was no daylight between them. And then Silver watches Madi meet Flint and start out skeptical of him, but think she can manage him as an ally, and then she grows closer to him until they start to sound like the same person in their leadership and then.

(would any of them?) of course he would, don't be silly, he could kick troublesome drunks out into the street, glare ominously at customers from behind the bar, pick fights, and threaten people who owe money :))) many happy returns to this fucking masterpiece
