Four Things You Didn't Know about Alden Ehrenreich that Might Make Him the Perfect Han Solo
Written by Creator Brittney Bailey on Creators.co
Well it's official, Alden Ehrenreich has emerged as the new favorite to play the "young Han Solo" in the upcoming Han Solo film. Wait....you don't know who that is? Well you're not alone, he's not a big star.....yet. So I did some digging on the guy to find out just how Han Solo material he actually is. What I found actually surprised me.
1. Hail! Caesar
First of all you should know that he was the absolute stand out in a recent film that came our earlier this year called "Hail! Caesar". The film starred the likes of George Clooney, Scarlet Johansson, and Channing Tatum. While the film itself got some less than stellar reviews, Alden was the consistently given praise over his performance and was often deemed as one of the highlights of the film. Having seen it myself, I can confirm that he was definitely the most memorable of the movie and stood out in every scene he was in. His charisma could almost easily be matched against Han Solo's and we all know just how charismatic Han Solo can be.
2. Spielberg is Basically His Pimp
Okay, maybe I was being a bit dramatic but seriously! Ehrenreich was discovered by the legendary director himself at his friend's bat mitzva where he starred in an amateur film. Steven Spielberg was so impressed by his talent that he got him acting gigs in tv shows like CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and Supernatural. I don't know about you but I think getting Spielberg to basically be like your agent after seeing you in one small role in an amateur film must mean your are pretty darn good.
3. He Went to the Tisch School of the Arts for Drama
New York University has an acclaimed and nationally well known drama program. It has a 15% acceptance rate and is notorious for being hard to get into yet Alden made it in just fine which I think is pretty impressive. Alumni include Alec Baldwin, Kristin Bell, and Robert De Niro.
4. And Last but Not Least...
His breakout film was in a Francis Ford Coppola movie......yeah the guy that did the Godfather Trilogy....no big deal. It was a 2009 film called "Tetro". Alden's performance was hailed by renowned film critic Roger Ebert as 'the new Leonardo DiCaprio'. If that ain't saying something then I don't know what will.
So what do you guys think? Did I make you like him more or are you still cautious because he's an unknown? Let me know what you think down below!
