Who To Be Worried About In The Season 6 Finale Of The Walking Dead
Written by Creator Zac Perry
The season 6 finale of The Walking Dead is fast approaching and there has already been confirmation that one major character is going to die. Since this was announced, fans everywhere have been trying to predict who is going to receive their brutal death. So here is my list of the top 6 people that we should be worried about in the season finale of The Walking Dead.
1. Abraham
Abraham has changed alot since we first saw him on the show; we have seen him in love, pain and loss and now he is ready to settle down amidst the apocalypse. He recently broke up with Rosita and is now planning to go rogue, leaving the group and his friends. He could possibly get the death treatment because it is not uncommon for the show to kill off anyone who gets any slice of happiness. He dreams of bigger things in a new life, something that the show runners rarely let live.
He could possibly die in the crossfire between the saviors and the group in the season finale. I highly doubt he will meet Lucille as he doesn't seem enough of a major character to meet Lucille.
2. Carol
Another character in the show that is changing quite a bit after her tussle with Morgan; Carol is changing her ways, and she is slowly becoming opposed to killing. With this and the new love interest she has found in a random Alexandria, things are not looking good for Carol. If she was to die in the season finale it would give a large push to Daryl's story line which has seemed to slow down drastically after Beth's death.
Carol is definitely a major character, being one of the rare 5 that have survived since season 1. Carol and Maggie are both captured, if this isn't something to be worried about I don't know what is.
3. Glenn
Glenn is everyone's first guess as to who is going to die in the season finale, he is another lucky one who has survived since season 1 and he has developed incredibly, arguably, even more so than Rick. He is also everyone's first guess for another reason, take a look at this panel from the comics below.
Yes. That is Glenn and that is big bad guy Negan who we are all about to meet. Now I am not saying that the show will follow comics exactly, as it is known for them to mix up characters every now and then, but we should still be worried about every ones favorite pizza boy.
4. Maggie
It has been a while since her and Glenn have felt safe and happy, but this might all be about to change. In an interview with EW Lauren Cohan (Maggie) said that:
"The word ‘finale’ gives me a physical reaction because it’s the hardest day on set that I’ve ever had in my life. I never even imagined that as an actor you could have that experience. It’s one of the most raw experiences that I think any of us have ever had. Andy talks about being late to work; I didn’t want to go to work that day. It took a really, really long time for everybody to feel OK again after the finale, let’s put it that way."
What would give such a reaction? The killing of an unborn baby and her mother. It is very possible that Maggie will die in the season finale, as much as I want to see her become the leader of the group, as hinted at in the last few seasons. Cohan also has a few upcoming projects, another red flag for Walking Dead characters.
5. Daryl
Shock and horror. Who would have thought that someone could die in the zombie (walker) apocalypse. I wrote a more detailed article here, but to sum it up, Daryl has out grown the show, everyone is hinting at it and he is too bad ass now to die from a walker. He is also part of the lucky 5, making him even more of a target.
6. Judith (Maybe)
This one is a little bit of a stretch, but Judith could be killed in the season finale. While the fact that killing a child on cable television will probably not happen, Judith has become a burden recently, and due to her young age she struggles to have any sort of arc. Now this would be forgiven if she assisted and progressed other arcs along, which she is currently not doing. She could progress a lot of peoples story lines along if she is killed however, this also plays into the quote that Lauren Cohan said earlier . Of course this is a stretch but don't leave it out of the question.
