Epic 'Game of Thrones' Infographic Compares Books vs TV Series
You are probably well aware of how the audience tends to split in favor of either book or screen adaptation where both are in the spotlight. Maybe you’ve even were an active participant to such split in the opinions.
The same fate awaited the acclaimed Game of Thrones series compared to its older sibling in writing, which is Song of Fire and Ice.
One of the main reasons such splits take place is due to discrepancies between the written and filmed version. Due to some parts George R.R. Martin introduces in his writing, being less than attractive onscreen – other miss outs by the direction seem to make no sense. That is if we speak about the character of Coldhands interacting with Samwell of the Night’s Watch and Bran Stark or the switch of original sending the real Sansa to marry Ramsey Bolton instead of following the initial plot by the author to send fake Arya Stark.
While taking out the apparently revolting scenes such as choking Joffrey tearing his throat open or revived and dead-walking lady Catelyn Stark from the book, the show was still full of ferocities such as the rape of Cersei Lannister near the deathbed of Joffrey by Jaime Lannister. Some claim that the circumstances hereto differ, that is why the filming crew had made the changes.
Nonetheless, the further series of Game of Thrones aired the less they have in common with Song of Fire and Ice.
In terms of split opinions, it is obvious that the book and the show are both a common topic discussed all over the world.
