5 Times 'Arrow's' Oliver Queen Showed Off His Amazing Big Brother Skills

There's something to be said about having a big brother who is the Green Arrow. Seriously, I don't think anyone would turn that relationship down. Over the years, Oliver has proven that he will do anything for Thea, even if it means crossing the line. Of course, Oliver doesn't exactly live on the right side of the law, but when it comes to his dedication to his baby sister, he's even been known to break a neck or two. Take a look at five times Oliver protected Thea whether she wanted him to or not.

Has Stephen Amell Just Confirmed Olicity For The Arrow Season 4 Finale?

Written by Pri Figueiredo on Creators.co

When Felicity Smoak and Oliver Queen broke off their engagement this season on Arrow, the fan base was neatly divided. The original comic book fans were ecstatic about it - since Olicity betrayed the Black Canary plot from the comics - but the TV fans were big shippers of the couple and had their hearts thoroughly broken.

During the CW Upfronts, Stephen Amell talked about the finale with TV Line, and he may have hinted at the - not so surprising - power couple comeback in next week's episode. Last season finale gave us Oliver and Felicity driving off into the sunset - and a whole new life - together and, when asked if this season finale would be different from the last, a hesitant Stephen said "it's different, but in a lot of ways it looks the same".

It's clear, judging from the ending of last week's episode 'Lost in the Flood', that the finale will put not only Felicity in a Darhk moment, but also her mother and Curtis. Stephen points out though, that as much as that is the set up for the finale "that is actually not at all what the episode is about".

Damien Dhark has been giving the Green Arrow and his team hell this season, and with the death of his wife it seems things will escalate quite a bit. In the finale promo, Dhark is plotting to create havoc in the whole of Star City and he apparently chose the Smoak ladies as his entry dinner dish.

Because of the commotion in the streets of his city, the Green Arrow will have a rare opportunity to address his fellow citzens as Oliver Queen himself. In the season premiere, we had a chance to see Oliver speak to the people of Star City as he introduced the Green Arrow to them, but we've never see Oliver as the hero taking a stand. Yes, he was running for mayor, but somehow Stephen Amell feels this speech will be a whole new step for Oliver.

"We have a scene that is really unlike anything we've ever done on the show, certainly with me as Oliver and not just speaking to the team, but speaking to Star City. We do that a little bit in the premiere where I announce myself as the Green Arrow and there is a bit of a callback to that in the finale and then the next step of that evolution."

Whether we'll have Olicity getting back together or not, the team is back and it's stronger than ever. They'll have some Diggle issues to address, but we've been promised closure and some teasing for what's to come in Season 5.

Here's Stephen's complete interview:

Arrow Season 4 finale, 'Schism', airs this Wednesday, May 25, on CW.

'Supergirl' Renewed But Moving to The CW: What Does This Mean For The Show?

Written by Creator Stephen Patterson on Creators.co

According to Entertainment Weekly, Supergirl has been renewed for a second season, but will be moving from CBS to The CW. The series, which stars Glee's Melissa Benoist, will be flying over to The CW, where it will join Greg Berlanti's other superhero series - Arrow, The Flash, and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.

But what does this mean for the Girl of Steel? The jump to The CW will open up several doors that had previously been closed, but it may also raises several problems.

More Cross-overs with the Arrowverse

During it's first season on CBS, Supergirl did crossover with The Flash, but it was made clear from the beginning of the series that the character of Supergirl does not exist in the Arrowverse. The main reasoning behind this is the fact that including Supergirl would lead to a necessary inclusion of Superman, who doesn't exist in the Arrowverse. In the crossover, The Flash travelled to an alternative earth, which is where he met Supergirl. Moreover, Supergirl had previously been filmed in Los Angeles - this move means that it will now be filmed in Vancouver along with The Flash and Arrow. The closer sets means that more crossovers will be inevitable.

Target Audience

The tone of Supergirl mirrors the tone of the other products in the Berlanti-verse. Moving the show to the same network as these beloved shows will allow Supergirl to target the audience that it was originally intended for. In the UK, all four shows are broadcast on Sky1 and are marketed as a pack. The CW's marketing team will most likely adopt a similar marketing campaign - promoting the four superhero shows in one promo.

Calista Flockhart

Calista Flockhart is one of the best things about Supergirl. Her presence on the show not only adds comic relief to the dire situations, but her presence in Supergirl's life is vital to her character development. With the show moving to Vancouver, one cannot help but wonder if Flockhart will commute to the new location. The finale did set up that Cat Grant wouldn't see Kara every day now that she is no longer her assistant, but a Supergirl show without Flockhart doesn't feel right. I hope Flockhart will make the move.

Supergirl's renewal means that we now have confirmation of a resolution from the cliffhanger left at the end of Season One. In theory, the move to The CW will allow the show more creative freedom now that it is among super friends!

5 Times Roy Harper (Arsenal) Showed His Heart

Written by Creator Rachel Carrington on Creators.co

Roy Harper was so easy to love even though he got into a lot of trouble in Season One. Season Two showed us the beginnings of a hero, and in Season Three, he showed us that the streetwise boy from the Glades had become a man who could kill us with a look, make us laugh with a wise-crack, and break our hearts when he sacrificed everything for his "family". Here are five times Roy Harper showed us his true heart.

1. WHEN HE SHOWED HIS FEAR OF BEING ABANDONED BY OLIVER

In Season's Three's 6th episode when Roy thought he'd killed Sara, he lost his confidence. It didn't help that Isaac was putting dangerous thoughts into his head, assuring him that Roy was just another weapon in Oliver's arsenal. So Roy's quiet plea of "don't abandon me" came from a man desperate to be saved. And our hearts wept with his.

2. WHEN HE THOUGHT HIS LIFE WAS A WASTE AND THAT HE WAS USELESS

In Season One's episode, Salvation, Roy was kidnapped by a bitter man from the Glades. When asked why he deserved to live, Roy says "I don't." It's a powerful scene showing a boy who had no hope in life. The devastation in his voice devastated us, and it was only when the Arrow (or the Hood as he was known then) saved him that Roy saw a spark of renewed faith.

3. WHEN HE WENT TO PRISON FOR OLIVER

When Roy was willing to give up his life so that Oliver could continue to live his, Arrow showed just how much Roy had grown. He'd been suffering for months after killing the cop when he was hyped up on Mirakuru, and he couldn't forgive himself. So, to him, sacrificing his life was payment for his sins. No one wanted him to go, and hearts broke when he rode off into the sunset after faking his own death.

4. WHEN HE LET THEA GO

When Thea first met Roy Harper, he was an angry boy who stole what he wanted and didn't have a purpose in life. They had this amazing connection that developed into a unique bond, but that shattered when Roy betrayed Thea's trust. In Season Three's episode, Corto Maltese, he showed how much of a changed man he was by choosing her happiness over his own. Sometimes, love is about letting go.

5. WHEN HE SHARED HIS HEART WITH THEA

Roy returned to Star City in Episode 12 of Season 4, and even though he couldn't stay, he let Thea know his heart would always remain with her. It takes a strong man to walk away to protect someone he loves. Remaining in Star City isn't an option for Roy as long as the city believes he was the Arrow. So he had to go back underground and leave a dying Thea behind. This scene proved that their love was unbreakable.

What Is The Fate Of Women In Arrow?

Written by Creator theapplefour on Creartors.co

With the recent death of Dinah Laurel Lance at the hands of Damien Darhk it's an opportune time to remind ourselves of how the Arrow TV show treats the Women of Arrow, while also comparing it to the treatment that the Men of Arrow receive. By the end of this article I think you'll see that the fate of the Women of Arrow is directly correlated to if they have also slept with Oliver Queen. For it certainly seems like that sex with Oliver Queen will almost equate to a death sentence for DC Comics female characters.

Arrow: Season 4 Wraps, And (Spoilers) Were STILL On Set! What The Heck?

Written BY Amie Marie Bohannon on Creators.co

So wait, if they both were still on set, does that mean they are both alive?

Arrow season 4 wrapped filming yesterday, marking the end of an incredible and shocking season. Though, while filming has ended, Arrow still has four more episodes to air, beginning with next week's episode 19, Canary Cry. In the previous episode, we saw the death of one of Team Arrow's very own, Laurel Lance, at the hands of Damien Darhk, who fulfilled a promise to Captain Lance that his disobedience would cost his daughter's life. Then, in a flash-forward we have already seen a million times, Felicity Smoak and Oliver Queen sit awkwardly in a limo following Laurel's funeral, and Felicity very sternly informs Oliver that he has no choice but to kill Darhk.

5 Things we Could See in Supergirl Season 2

Written by Craig Patrick Arnott on Creators.co

While the news of Supegirl receiving a second season has yet to be officially confirmed by CBS, there is plenty to suggest CBS are planning for a second season. With this possibility here is a look at some of what we could see in the future from the girl of steel.

Lynda Carter as President

Entertainment Weekly have reported that the executive producers of the show, Andrew Kreisberg and Greg Berlanti revealed the news when the Supergirl/Flash crossover episode aired. The pair were quoted with stating.

“We had the perfect role for Lynda Carter,”

Berlanti said of the Wonder Woman alum, followed with.

“We couldn’t work out her schedule. Next year.”

Kreisberg then added, which implies she was originally planned to appear in the first season.

“We’re going to do it, we’ll just do it next year,”

This prompted Berlanti to reveal her potential role in the second season.

“All right, she’s the female President of the United States.”

The President has been mentioned numerous times throughout the first season, and it has been made clear it is a female President. The first instance was when General Lane took control of the DEO in episode 9 "Blood Bonds". Lynda would not be the first veteran DC actor added to Supergirl's cast, as we already have Helen Slater and Dean Cain playing Kara's adoptive parents Eliza and Jeremiah Danvers.

Possible Casting And Plot Ideas For The Flash 2018 Film?

Written by Creator Corey Belyk on Creators.co

For those DC comics fans out there, you may or may not have heard the recent rumors of leaked castings for Warner Bros. DC Extended Universe. I recently read a Moviepilot post summing up what these leaks describe. Now I may be wrong and these "leaks" were all fakes: if so please tell me below in the comments to correct me and then there would be no reason to continue reading from this point on.

But! If they were indeed rumored leaks, then I have pieced together a certain connection between these castings; and that connection is that they all have something to do with The Flash.

Don't mind Amber Heard up in the top left, we know she is going to be Mera inJustice League Part One and the Aquaman film. I'm talking about the other 5: (remember, these are just RUMORS so they could be wrong and I could be wrong, so there should be no reason to hate on me for making this pitch:

The rumored castings are as followed:

4 Reasons Why Supergirl is the Hero We Deserve

Written by Ross Topham on Creators.co

Supergirl's freshman finale airs next Monday and as we reach the end, it's a time to look back. Supergirl has been a great ride but never been quite perfect, filled with some fantastic episodes but also some clunkers. Behind a budget that only just covers the the production, occasionally underwhelming villains-of-the-week and a tendency to tone down the story to remain family friendly, there has been one constant shining light that keeps viewers such as myself tuning in week after week; Melissa Benoist as Supergirl.

In the wake of Man of Steel and Batman v Superman's less than well received interpretation Superman as portrayed by Henry Cavill, Benoist's stellar performance as Kara Zor-El has not only carried the show but stood out as what Superman should have been. The show tackles some similar elements to the Movie-verse's Superman, including the fear and apprehension about such a super-powered individual existing, but it remembers to show us that it's not all darkness and fear.

1. Supergirl is a lot of fun.

Even when other elements of the show are failing or simply average, Supergirl remembers to just have fun with this stuff. There will always be a wish-fulfillment aspect to superheroes and Kara's powers are frankly so incredible it would be completely unbelievable if she didn't find any joy in them at all. Simple scenes such as Supergirl enjoying an afternoon soaring around the city speaks volumes about the character and this interpretation. Of course she uses her heat vision to warm up coffee so as not to get in trouble with her boss, because that's what a normal person who had heat vision would do. The plots may be simplistic and/or cliched and the production values aren't quite always there, but at its core Supergirl remembers that superheroes are meant to be entertaining.

The crossover with The CW's The Flash is a wonderful example of how superheroes are still fun and putting Melissa Benoist alongside Grant Gustin's Flash is just a good time from start to finish. The entertainment of these two characters enjoying themselves, their powers and their ability to be heroes drowns out the other problems that would otherwise threaten to drag down the episode. Interestingly, this episode aired only days after the launch of Batman v Superman and could not be more different. One crossover deals in fear and punches, the other in hope and optimism in the face of danger. I'll let you work out which one is which.

How The CW Will Force Me To Have The LGBT Talk With My Children

Written by Creator Marcus McBaller on Creators.co

Ok, deep breath...Just breathe, I can do this, I can do this. I don't have to do this, but I can do this. That is what I will be telling myself just before having the conversation of human sexuality and gender orientation with my 11 and 9 year old son. That's a tender age to have that talk at, right? I mean, I don't live in California where elementary schools have transgender bathrooms. I can shelter them from the real world for just a few more years, can't I? Apparently, I can not. Thanks CW, thanks a lot! But that's ok, I'm not mad you. Thank you for giving me that push.

Let me start from the beginning. My family and I (wife and two sons) are comic movie/TV lovers. We've seen every MCU movie at least three times or more and absolutely love the CW roster of shows. Flash, Arrow and Legends have literally brought us together around the TV. My DVR is always set to record and we always stay current. It's great because we get at least an hour of time together three days a week. Of course we get other time together, the kids play sports, mom is an active volunteer in the boys' school etc. But this is different. This is something that we all share in. It is forbidden that one of us watch with out the others. This is OUR THING, ya know? Good, wholesome, family friendly television. Then the CW went and changed the game on me.

It started with Nyssa and Sarah on Arrow. They became lovers for a short time and it kind of gave my wife and I an awkward moment. We balked at explaining it to our sons because it didn't seem like a big deal to them. Then Captain Singh on Flash was getting married to his boyfriend. Again, the boys had no reaction to that. Well, a slight one. But it was quelled with a simple "some guys like guys son, it's not a big deal". Then Legends brings it full bore with Sarah kissing the nurse in 1950. And one of my favorite new Arrow characters, Curtis Holt is openly gay and lives with his boyfriend. So this week, it was kind of on display a bit. It was something that couldn't be ignored. They are seeing it in all three of their favorite shows. Now, let me be clear. The issue for me is not one of right and wrong in regards to sexual orientation and partnership. I want my children to be loving, caring individuals..PERIOD. No matter what a person looks like or what their lifestyle is. The issue is, I just wasn't ready for them to grow up yet, and the CW helped me see that if I don't tell them, then the world will.

I applaud the CW for the way it portrays diversity on its network. They do so in a respectful way. This goes beyond the LGBT topic, it also includes race and gender. My family is interracial. My wife is white, I'm black, the kids are mixed. So what? That's common. So its good to see a love triangle with Iris West, Barry Allen and Eddie Thawn. I thought it was very nice the way they addressed the issues of race and gender inequality on Legends when they time hopped to 1950. They've brought the real world into our world without being "in your face" about it. I kind of think of it like this. You know how when you sneak into somewhere and you're not supposed to be there? The key to getting away with it is to act like you're supposed to be there. Don't make a big deal of it, I belong here. The CW has snuck major topics into my life and guess what, they belong there.

The Misogyny is Strong With This One: The Case of Felicity Smoak

Written by Creator J. on Creators.co

Felicity Smoak has been an important part of Oliver Queen’s journey since the beginning of the show. What was supposed to be a one-shot character became a compelling, multi-dimensional and strong female character in the DC Universe. From what we learned about her background, Felicity has been affected by being constantly let down by different men in her life and suffers from abandonment issues. It has been portrayed with the resurrection of her ex-boyfriend Cooper and the pain caused by her father who left her and Donna at a young age. She is smart, witty , not afraid to speak up and a great feminist model on television. Throughout the seasons, it has been emphasized in her personality that it is important for her to be included in a decision making process when it directly concerns her.

Does The Flash Have Hot Feet?

Written by Creator David Latchman

In the TV show, The Flash, Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) utilizes the "speed force" to attain superhuman speeds. Unfortunately, Barry does not have a full grasp of his powers when he first gets them and is susceptible to some of the laws of physics. In Season 1's episode Going Rogue, Barry runs so fast his shoes catch fire. Many fans will tell you how hot Barry (or Grant) is, but what about the real science behind how much Flash's feet could create?

How much heat can Barry make?

This may seem like a silly problem for a sci-fi superhero show but it can be analyzed using physics. (If you can't turn your serious science degree into solving pointless problems in popular culture, you should forfeit your degree.) The IMDB website indicates that Grant is 6' 2" tall, so we'll assume the same for Barry. This means Barry should have an average Men's US size 11 sole. The surface area of the sole is approximately 0.02 square meters.

As Barry runs, his shoes rub against the concrete and produce heat. We can figure out the "heat flux", or how much heat goes through the soles. Barry's feet must slip or no heat will be generated. This is very different from when you run or walk; your feet do not move, but stay planted instead. In Barry's case, we will be looking at the kinetic friction between his rubber soles and concrete, which has a value of 0.8.

The first equation is the heat flux equation. The term P is the pressure (Barry's weight over his soles) and V is his speed. The second equation tells us how the rubber's temperature rises for a given quantity of heat. If we assume that Barry was running for five seconds, we can calculate the amount of heat generated by multiplying the first equation by 5 seconds. This will be equal to the second equation. This will let us solve V, which is the speed Barry must run for his shoes to start burning. Doing our little algebra magic, here's what we get!

The term ΔT is the change in temperature. Rubber begins to burn at about 260℃ or 500℉. At this point, we just plug in what we know and discover that Barry has to run 138 meters per second for his shoes to catch fire. This is about 497 kilometers per hour (or 309 miles per hour). You may be thinking that is pretty fast, but don't forget Barry is the fastest man alive (or haven't you been paying attention?).

Catch fire or wear out?

As you walk, your shoes rub against the concrete and "wear out" due to friction. We can calculate how much of Barry's soles will wear out as he runs using the "Archard equation."

The constant H is the hardness of the rubber. Substituting the values we know, we get

We see from equation (3) that Barry will generate enough heat to burn rubber before he reaches the speed in equation (4) to wear away the rubber in his soles. It turns out that Barry really is a hottie, but not for the reasons fans may think! Looks like Cisco (Carlos Valdes) will have to use a special heat resistant material in that Flash suit.

Things Are Hotting Up For Supergirl, But Who Is Her True Love Interest?

Written by Creator Craig Patrick Arnott

Supergirl has surprised viewers around the globe with her high-flying television series. With a well thought out plot, great character development, lots of action and plenty of DC cameos for fans, it has left few dissatisfied.

However the biggest question fans are asking is who is her true love interest? The young heroine has had plenty pursue her and she herself has pursued more than one. With her confession to James in the latest episode, has the question finally been answered? Perhaps not. Let us have a look back at who has caught the attention of our Kryptonian heroine and consider all the possibilities.

1. Winslow "Winn" Schott, Jr.

Winn is Supergirl's best friend at CatCo and was the first person she revealed her Supergirl secret to. Their relationship has been that of best friends, however Winn has had feelings for Kara for a long time, even before he knew who and what she was. When his deranged father Toyman escaped from prison, Winn admitted some dark secrets to Kara and even went in for a kiss.

As to be expected this did not work to his advantage, poor guy, it is so hard to get out of the "friend zone." Kara and Winn were unsure what to do to get past their predicament and he even told her he needed time away from her to give him time to get over it. However, all has not been too sad for Winn as he has recently been getting it on with Cat Grant's newest assistant Siobhan, but that itself may be destined to hurt him further given who Siobhan is destined to become. While he and Supergirl have repaired their friendship it is safe to say Winn is out of the running for being the one to steal Supergirl's heart.

2. Adam Foster

What is cool about Adam Foster is the fact he was played by Blake Jenner, the real-life husband of Melissa Benoist who plays Supergirl. Adam was brought into the series through Kara's meddling when she discovered her boss, Cat Grant, had an estranged son, Adam. With Kara's help the mother and son began to form a relationship, but his mother was not the only person Adam was wanting to have a relationship with.

All seemed set for Supergirl to fly into the sunset with Adam, until Kara feared those she loved may be in danger due to her heroics. This caused her to end things with Adam, hurting him and angering her boss Cat. While Adam may return in future series for the odd episode to visit his mother it is unlikely he will get it on with Kara for a second time.

3. James "Jimmy" Olsen

James is known by many as Jimmy, the best friend of Superman. However when he wanted to branch out Superman requested he go to National City to watch over his cousin Kara. Since the moment they met there has been a connection between the two and quite clearly a mutual attraction. This was not left unnoticed by Kara's adopted sister Alex.

However all came to a sudden halt when Lucy Lane, the younger sister of Lois Lane, arrived on the scene. Lucy is James's long-term girlfriend, who arrives in National City to fight for her man and even joins the team at CatCo. However James and Kara's chemistry continued to mount and eventually led to Lucy leaving James. In the latest episode of Supergirl, Kara confessed to James but he stopped her before she finished telling him her true feelings, as he needs time. Seems the guys on this show all need time. So does this mean the pair will finally get together before the end of the series, it is possible as they could be saving it for the series finale.

{WARNING: CONTAINS SPOILERS}

The CW have been keeping us on our toes this season. The greatest mystery has (sort of) been solved over on The Flash (though we are still very confused about how HE is Zoom), but the biggest mystery facing fans of Arrow is: Who is in that grave? Theories have ranged from Detective Lance to Laurel, Thea to Diggle, for awhile it seemed like it was going to be Felicity, but that has since been ruled out. The front runner for most theories as of late seem to point towards Felicity's Mama Bear or Oliver's son, William. I don't think it's any of them!
