Four Things You Didn't Know about Alden Ehrenreich that Might Make Him the Perfect Han Solo

Written by Creator Brittney Bailey on Creators.co

Well it's official, Alden Ehrenreich has emerged as the new favorite to play the "young Han Solo" in the upcoming Han Solo film. Wait....you don't know who that is? Well you're not alone, he's not a big star.....yet. So I did some digging on the guy to find out just how Han Solo material he actually is. What I found actually surprised me.

1. Hail! Caesar

First of all you should know that he was the absolute stand out in a recent film that came our earlier this year called "Hail! Caesar". The film starred the likes of George Clooney, Scarlet Johansson, and Channing Tatum. While the film itself got some less than stellar reviews, Alden was the consistently given praise over his performance and was often deemed as one of the highlights of the film. Having seen it myself, I can confirm that he was definitely the most memorable of the movie and stood out in every scene he was in. His charisma could almost easily be matched against Han Solo's and we all know just how charismatic Han Solo can be.

2. Spielberg is Basically His Pimp

Okay, maybe I was being a bit dramatic but seriously! Ehrenreich was discovered by the legendary director himself at his friend's bat mitzva where he starred in an amateur film. Steven Spielberg was so impressed by his talent that he got him acting gigs in tv shows like CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and Supernatural. I don't know about you but I think getting Spielberg to basically be like your agent after seeing you in one small role in an amateur film must mean your are pretty darn good.

3. He Went to the Tisch School of the Arts for Drama

New York University has an acclaimed and nationally well known drama program. It has a 15% acceptance rate and is notorious for being hard to get into yet Alden made it in just fine which I think is pretty impressive. Alumni include Alec Baldwin, Kristin Bell, and Robert De Niro.

4. And Last but Not Least...

His breakout film was in a Francis Ford Coppola movie......yeah the guy that did the Godfather Trilogy....no big deal. It was a 2009 film called "Tetro". Alden's performance was hailed by renowned film critic Roger Ebert as 'the new Leonardo DiCaprio'. If that ain't saying something then I don't know what will.

So what do you guys think? Did I make you like him more or are you still cautious because he's an unknown? Let me know what you think down below!

Will Rogue One Be The Gritty Star Wars Movie We Have Been Waiting For?

I really hope this film is darker and grittier than previous Star wars films. Not that the others are bad by any means, but this is the first spinoff film in the franchise and I think it should really be able to stand apart from the other Episode films. I think it should tie in but also be it's own movie with it's own look/feel and tone. I think this poster captures the true essence of the mission and the intensity of the battles that take place in order to retrieve the DS plans.

5 Studio Ghibli Films That Need A TV Series!

Written by Creator Aiko Abercromby on Creators.co

For decades Studio Ghibli has been bringing joy, laughter and sometimes even the occasional tear into the homes of fans around the world. Doesn't matter your age or race, anyone can sit down and enjoy one of their films, each one has at least one thing everyone can relate too.

If you watched one Studio Ghibli films - it's pretty much impossible to just watch one - you know how wonderful they are. Hayao Miyazaki is capable of making us love anything and everything when it comes to his movies.

But hasn't there came a time were you wished one of the films had a tv series? many Studio Ghibli films would make amazing TV shows and I know for sure you guys would sit down every time to tune in. Well after putting in some hours thinking, I came up with this with list. From Howl's Moving Castle to The Cat Return, check out these 5 Studio Ghibli films that need TV adaptions!

[Films are in no particular order.]

1. Ponyo

I remember the first time I watched Ponyo, it was years ago and I didn't think I would like. My mom told me to get it, so I did and it was best decision I ever made, it has such a great story, fun loveable characters and is just a all around great film.

But enough about why I love this film, the reason I say it will make a great TV series, is because each episode can show the daily life of Ponyo and Sosuke. The show can explore deeper into Ponyo's home life, show what it's like being goldfish princess and come on, who wouldn't watch that little face every week? No one can say no to her.

2. Spirited Away

Spirited Away is my second favorite Studio Ghibli film, everything about is so original and beautiful. Making this a TV show would make everything in my life right, I would be alright if they even grew her up in show. Or maybe even did episodes about NoFace's and what life experiences he had, I don't how old he is but I'm guessing he's not young.

Either way they did it, Spirited Away would make a wonderful TV series, even folks who aren't that customed to the movie could follow along, it would be a really fun show to sit down and watch with family, friends or if your like me your pet.

3. Arrietty

After watching the film I felt like their should of been a sequel of some type. I really wondered what Arrietty did after her and her family moved, so in the TV show they could show what they did on that particular adventure or even have her come back to visit Sho and then take him back to her new house.

There are many things that could from the TV series, maybe introduce more borrowers and their families. The possibilities are endless, all they have to do is make it happen, but this is all wishful thinking so all I can do is keep wishing.

4. My Neighbor Totoro

You guys know I couldn't make a list and not put My neighbor Totoro on it, like that would be like having chocolate chip cookie with well, chocolate chips! Nothing would make better TV series than this film. I've watched the film about 10 times and I could watch it again, with a TV series we could see more of Mei and Catbus or they could show where the dust sprites go when they can't been seen.

I don't care what story they put into the episodes I would tune in everytime just watch Totoro roll around and sleep. I love everything about the story and characters, it's my biggest wish for this film to get a TV adaption.

5. Howl's Moving Castle

Now with Howl's Moving Castle, I don't think whole 30 minutes would do well. Don't get me wrong I loved the film so much just like I love any other Studio Ghibli movie, it's just the story is already told so well in the film that spending to much time one episode would get a little tiring.

But if they took the same route as Adventure time and did a short type of siries it would be gold, each episode would could focus on one character or maybe on a character they really did spend much time on in the film. Again either way they swung it I would still check it because it's bound to be good.

Would you watch a Studio Ghibli Tv series? Would you like it better if they just wrote a series rather than adapt one of their films? let me know in the comments! thanks for stopping and reading my article, follow for more!

Injuries, Bankruptcy and Death - 8 Of The Craziest Facts About Films

Written by Creator Kory Glover

Have you ever watched one of your favorite movies and wondered what crazy nonsense happened behind the scenes? How did the actors get along? Well I'm about to answer those questions as I count up eight of the craziest facts about famous films. Let's start with:

1. Sigourney Weaver is an All-Star

I'm not gonna lie, Alien: Resurrection is a pretty terrible movie with some actual decent actors in it such as Ron Pearlman, Brad Dourif, Winona Ryder and Sigourney herself who is a veteran of the franchise. The movie takes place hundreds of years into the future where Ripley has been cloned with Alien DNA and this makes her superhuman… for some odd reason. To show this off, Ripley starts playing basketball with her male co-stars and starts wiping the floor with them because apparently Alien DNA also makes you amazing at sports… man this movie is lame.

However at the end of the scene when Ripley is walking off the court, she does a trick backwards shot right into the basket and amazes everyone. What you probably didn’t know is that Sigourney Weaver made that shot all on her own without the help of CGI. The director said that they will just CGI the ball into the basket but Sigourney refused and requested that she try and make the basket herself and in just a few takes, she does. Harlem Globetrotters got nothing on this gal.

2. Michael Myer’s Mask was just a Captain Kirk mask painted white

Halloween is considered a horror classic that set the stage for the horror genre and a lot of what makes the movie so terrifying is the mask that Michael wears to hide his face. Where did they get that mask, did they make it themselves, did a lot of planning go into the making process of the mask? Nope, it’s just a Captain Kirk mask spray-painted white. The costume designer had a limited budget so he picked up the mask at a garage sale for two dollars. Doesn’t that make the movie a little less scary, Jaime Lee Curtis running away from a psychotic William Shatner… or does that make it more scary?

3. Nothing interrupts Leonardo DiCaprio’s Acting

Leonardo finally won that Oscar gold and it must have been exhausting for him. I mean he sacrificed his body in Django Unchained and barely got a golden globe nomination. In Django Unchained, Leo plays a plantation owner named Calvin Candie who enjoys watching slaves fight each other to death for sport and gambling. Django and his friend Dr. Schultz travel there to save Django’s wife by tricking Calvin into thinking that they want a prized fighter of their own. When Calvin becomes aware of their intentions and after Calvin smashes a glass in anger, his hand starts to bleed.

However, that was not special effects, Leonardo was so into the scene that he didn’t notice that he had just made a huge gash in his hand. Remember when Calvin takes his bloody hand and wipes it on Kerry Washington’s face, that was real blood. It wasn’t until after the director yelled cut that Leo discovered he was bleeding quite rapidly and Kerry had the death look on him. It was worth it though... maybe.

4. Howard the Duck is actually a… Blessing???

Alright get this… Howard the Duck is a movie that follows a humanoid duck that is sucked from another dimension that inhabits other humanoid ducks. He is unable to return to his dimension, so he gets a job, gets an apartment, gets a kinda girlfriend and even aliens attack from another dimension… and on top of all this George Lucas produced it. This movie is just as bad as you are making it out to be right now but the kicker is that it may have been a blessing.

After the movie was released, it became a huge box office flop (big shock) and sent George Lucas into massive, crippling debt and he had to sell off parts of Lucasfilm. Steve Jobs, head of Apple, offered to buy Lucas's new computer animation division at the asking price. That division soon became… Pixar. Yep, if Howard the Duckhadn’t been created then we might have never gotten Toy Story, Monster’s Inc,Incredibles, Up, Finding Nemo, Wall-E, Ratatouille, or A Bug’s Life. I guess this means I can’t hate the movie anymore… I hate it less then before.

5. The Great Escape hit one cast member a little too close to home

The Great Escape follows a bunch of Allied P.O.W.s in German camp who plan to escape with hundreds of other prisoners. The movie starred many classic and legendary actors including Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson, James Garner, James Coburn and Richard Attenborough. However, there was one actor that this movie probably hit a little too close to home for.

Donald Pleasence was an actual P.o.W back in WWII who was shot down during a raid on Agenville and was imprisoned for a year in a Stalag Luft. Must have been pretty weird for him on the set of the film.

10 Movie Phrases And Scenes That Became A Part Of Life:How Many Do You Use?

Written by Creator Andrea Marie Cini

We live in a age where anyone under the age of 25 was raised watching television and films. With us watching such things from before we could even walk or talk, some things were bound to leave some marks. How many of us have raised our poor cats in the air and thus imitating the iconic presentation of the Simba to all the inhabitants of the Pridelands, how many characters have used and reused the words 'I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.' For most of us these words come so naturally that we might forget who really uttered them first. Well below I have made a list of some of the most iconic words and scenes that ever showed up on the big screen.

1) Titanic - The Arms Out Pose (1997)

Okay, admit it, even if you've never stood at the front of a ship we have all spread out arms out to the wind, echoing Rose's action in Titanic. Apart from becoming an iconic couple's photo pose the scene above has become also a bit of a mockery. However, whatever the case, even when the ship sank this scene continued to live on.

2) James Bond- The Iconic Introduction (1962)

We never have had the opportunity to specifically say 'Bond. James Bond' but we have all said our own names in a similar way. Whether it be John Smith or Jane Doe we have all uttered our names in this order, possibly to make a 007 worthy first impression.

3) Frozen- Just Let It Goooo! (2013)

Frozen is known for a lot of things but I think one of the things that really got singed into people's minds is the song 'Let It Go'. I don't know about you but I cannot say the words 'let it go' without slightly singing them.

4) Apollo 13- We Might Have A Problem (1995)

Although no historically correct 'Houston, we have a problem' has practically invaded all corners of the the cinematic and television universes. Although it is now used in a comical sense we cannot forget that it was first uttered back in 1995 in Apollo 13.

5) The Hunger Games- May The Odds Be Ever In Your Favour (2012)

One of the most recent additions to this collection, teens and adults around the world occasionally find themselves, especially during exam time, bidding their peers 'May the odds ever be in you favour.' Whether it is to survive the Hunger Games or exams (admit it, they aren't that different) this has become the modern 'good luck!'

6) The Godfather- There Are Some Things You Just Can't Refuse (1972)

I've never said the words myself but like much else said by the Godfather it continues to live on in modern plots and characters. That night Vito Corleone really did make a deal the world couldn't refuse or forget.7) All About Eve- It's Going To Be A Bumpy Ride (1950)Video content description.I was personally surprised at how old this expression really was. Over half a centrary later this endearing phrase is still frequently used.

8) Casablanca- A Start Of A Beautiful Friendship (1942)

Ever look at someone and realise that he/she is just as crazy as you? If that isn't the start of a beautiful friendship I don't know what is.

9) The Wizard Of Oz- We're Not In Kansas Anymore (1939)

We may not be in Oz but if you're not in Kansas these words have followed adventurers across time and space, sometimes accompanied by a cute little dog.

10) The Lion King- The Raising Your Cat In The Air Pose (1994)

I think this article went full cycle, we started with a iconic scene and it will end with the most iconic scene ever created. 22 years later children and adults are still raising their poor cats in the air and presenting them to the world, much to the kitties dismay.

5 Popular Franchises That Need To Die ASAP

As you may know, Hollywood has a twisted mindset of "If it ain't broke, don't fix anything." But as much money as they're making, they're also destroying the opportunity for fresh ideas. Sequels, sequels, and more sequels. And now everything has to be a franchise from the get go. Looking at you Fan4stic. Keep it up Fox! So today we're going to talk about 5 franchises that I think need to be flatlined. Disclaimer: This will offend many of you because I'm sure I'm going to name some movies a lot of you love. I don't care. Let me have it in the comments if you are appalled by anything I have to say. I can take it.

The Fast & Furious Franchise

Is this controversial? GOOD. I hate all of these movies (except 5, that one was alright). But it doesn't matter because they keep getting made and making boatloads of money. Why, you ask? Because these movies contain everything that will capture the attention of anybody of age. Buff dudes, women who look like models, nice cars, guns, explosions, beautiful environments in and out of America, and The Rock. This franchise is oversaturated and doesn't really have anything to offer. Can anybody give me a legitimate summary of every film's plot? No, because they're either non-existent or just straight up too dumb to remember. The fact that these movie are making more money as they go is telling Hollywood that this is all people want, which means that this is all we will get. So get ready for 50 more F&F movies (reboots not included).

The Taken Franchise

The first Taken was actually a pretty good action movie that used its platform to shed some much needed light on the tragedy that is human trafficking. This film also ushered in a genre strictly made up of aged actors kicking ass in movies. But this has turned into a terribly redundant franchise that makes you wonder if maybe this guy is a bad dad. This franchise has no hope left for it and isn't even that popular anymore. Kill it.

The Scary Movie Franchise

This franchise began as a fun parody of pop culture focused mainly on horror films. It has stayed true to that, but it is no longer funny, and hasn't been for awhile. Movies like Airplane and Naked Gun got parody right because there was real comedy with some slapstick thrown in as well. This franchise just focuses on what a 13 year old kid will laugh at, and the answer is literally anything. There are no longer any funny jokes in these movies, just bathroom humor and not much else. I watched the last one that came out (4 or 5? doesn't matter it sucked either way), and I was truly embarrassed for the people that had to make these movies. When a comedy isn't funny you have a problem. A big one. This franchise needs to be stabbed in the heart.

The Paranormal Activity Franchise

For a franchise that started so strong, it's been quite a journey to awfulness. When I saw the first of the series, there was legitimate suspense and tension. The second and third carried that on (not nearly as well). Then the plots became so convoluted that you couldn't figure out the connection between films until it was thrown in your face. Ugh, I just can't anymore with this. Tobey needs to murder this franchise.

Transformers

Ohhhhhhhhh man I can't even tell you how much I despise this series. Michael Bay has created an empire off of this and it makes me sick. I will say one positive thing about them is that there is some incredible CGI and that deserves to be recognized. But screw that. These movies are terrible. There is no plot. The Autobots act like petty children amongst themselves, yet they are apparently the superior species. And The latest film spent a substantial amount of time explaining the Romeo and Juliet law. There's just so much to hate about these movies.

There are those many times in a day, whether it's putting off work or your brain is just going through it's natural "zone-out" moment, where all you need is that perfect "Feel Good" movie to just ease yourself with a nice hot cup of tea/cocoa/coffee or whatever you enjoy.

With the recent arrival of Grease: Live, we’ve suddenly got a hint of nostalgia for the classic film and the musical that inspired it. One major part of the Greasestory is the songs, but how have they stood the test of time? Be aware, this is not a list of the “best” Grease songs, but the most iconic (because otherwise I’d probably put ‘Mooning’ up a lot higher than it is). In terms of the actual songs, the songs that are featured here are from both the musical and the film, usingGrease: The Original Soundtrack from the Motion Picture as a direct source, excluding songs that originated elsewhere.

While many people have speculated about potential names for the first Marvel Cinematic Universe Spider-Man film, set to be released on July 7th 2017, the strangest thing of all is the fact that Marvel and Sony haven't yet released the title. While many people suspect that the film may be called Spider-Man: The New Avenger or The Spectacular Spider-Man, it seems very unusual that the title hasn't been released with less than thirty months until it is released.

Most of the performances that I consider truly masterful are examples of this, like Cate Blanchett as Katharine Hepburn in The Aviator, Sean Penn as Harvey Milk in Milk, Charlize Theron as Aileen Wuornos in Monster, Eddie Redmayne as Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything, Jamie Foxx as Ray Charles in Ray, or Meryl Streep as Margaret Thatcher in The Iron Lady. The ability of an actor to not only impersonate someone, but fully embody their spirit is a feat only a select few can accomplish.
