5 Times 'Arrow's' Oliver Queen Showed Off His Amazing Big Brother Skills

There's something to be said about having a big brother who is the Green Arrow. Seriously, I don't think anyone would turn that relationship down. Over the years, Oliver has proven that he will do anything for Thea, even if it means crossing the line. Of course, Oliver doesn't exactly live on the right side of the law, but when it comes to his dedication to his baby sister, he's even been known to break a neck or two. Take a look at five times Oliver protected Thea whether she wanted him to or not.

Has Stephen Amell Just Confirmed Olicity For The Arrow Season 4 Finale?

Written by Pri Figueiredo on Creators.co

When Felicity Smoak and Oliver Queen broke off their engagement this season on Arrow, the fan base was neatly divided. The original comic book fans were ecstatic about it - since Olicity betrayed the Black Canary plot from the comics - but the TV fans were big shippers of the couple and had their hearts thoroughly broken.

During the CW Upfronts, Stephen Amell talked about the finale with TV Line, and he may have hinted at the - not so surprising - power couple comeback in next week's episode. Last season finale gave us Oliver and Felicity driving off into the sunset - and a whole new life - together and, when asked if this season finale would be different from the last, a hesitant Stephen said "it's different, but in a lot of ways it looks the same".

It's clear, judging from the ending of last week's episode 'Lost in the Flood', that the finale will put not only Felicity in a Darhk moment, but also her mother and Curtis. Stephen points out though, that as much as that is the set up for the finale "that is actually not at all what the episode is about".

Damien Dhark has been giving the Green Arrow and his team hell this season, and with the death of his wife it seems things will escalate quite a bit. In the finale promo, Dhark is plotting to create havoc in the whole of Star City and he apparently chose the Smoak ladies as his entry dinner dish.

Because of the commotion in the streets of his city, the Green Arrow will have a rare opportunity to address his fellow citzens as Oliver Queen himself. In the season premiere, we had a chance to see Oliver speak to the people of Star City as he introduced the Green Arrow to them, but we've never see Oliver as the hero taking a stand. Yes, he was running for mayor, but somehow Stephen Amell feels this speech will be a whole new step for Oliver.

"We have a scene that is really unlike anything we've ever done on the show, certainly with me as Oliver and not just speaking to the team, but speaking to Star City. We do that a little bit in the premiere where I announce myself as the Green Arrow and there is a bit of a callback to that in the finale and then the next step of that evolution."

Whether we'll have Olicity getting back together or not, the team is back and it's stronger than ever. They'll have some Diggle issues to address, but we've been promised closure and some teasing for what's to come in Season 5.

Here's Stephen's complete interview:

Arrow Season 4 finale, 'Schism', airs this Wednesday, May 25, on CW.

'Supergirl' Renewed But Moving to The CW: What Does This Mean For The Show?

Written by Creator Stephen Patterson on Creators.co

According to Entertainment Weekly, Supergirl has been renewed for a second season, but will be moving from CBS to The CW. The series, which stars Glee's Melissa Benoist, will be flying over to The CW, where it will join Greg Berlanti's other superhero series - Arrow, The Flash, and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.

But what does this mean for the Girl of Steel? The jump to The CW will open up several doors that had previously been closed, but it may also raises several problems.

More Cross-overs with the Arrowverse

During it's first season on CBS, Supergirl did crossover with The Flash, but it was made clear from the beginning of the series that the character of Supergirl does not exist in the Arrowverse. The main reasoning behind this is the fact that including Supergirl would lead to a necessary inclusion of Superman, who doesn't exist in the Arrowverse. In the crossover, The Flash travelled to an alternative earth, which is where he met Supergirl. Moreover, Supergirl had previously been filmed in Los Angeles - this move means that it will now be filmed in Vancouver along with The Flash and Arrow. The closer sets means that more crossovers will be inevitable.

Target Audience

The tone of Supergirl mirrors the tone of the other products in the Berlanti-verse. Moving the show to the same network as these beloved shows will allow Supergirl to target the audience that it was originally intended for. In the UK, all four shows are broadcast on Sky1 and are marketed as a pack. The CW's marketing team will most likely adopt a similar marketing campaign - promoting the four superhero shows in one promo.

Calista Flockhart

Calista Flockhart is one of the best things about Supergirl. Her presence on the show not only adds comic relief to the dire situations, but her presence in Supergirl's life is vital to her character development. With the show moving to Vancouver, one cannot help but wonder if Flockhart will commute to the new location. The finale did set up that Cat Grant wouldn't see Kara every day now that she is no longer her assistant, but a Supergirl show without Flockhart doesn't feel right. I hope Flockhart will make the move.

Supergirl's renewal means that we now have confirmation of a resolution from the cliffhanger left at the end of Season One. In theory, the move to The CW will allow the show more creative freedom now that it is among super friends!

Are you excited about Supergirl's return?

5 Times Roy Harper (Arsenal) Showed His Heart

Written by Creator Rachel Carrington on Creators.co

Roy Harper was so easy to love even though he got into a lot of trouble in Season One. Season Two showed us the beginnings of a hero, and in Season Three, he showed us that the streetwise boy from the Glades had become a man who could kill us with a look, make us laugh with a wise-crack, and break our hearts when he sacrificed everything for his "family". Here are five times Roy Harper showed us his true heart.

1. WHEN HE SHOWED HIS FEAR OF BEING ABANDONED BY OLIVER

In Season's Three's 6th episode when Roy thought he'd killed Sara, he lost his confidence. It didn't help that Isaac was putting dangerous thoughts into his head, assuring him that Roy was just another weapon in Oliver's arsenal. So Roy's quiet plea of "don't abandon me" came from a man desperate to be saved. And our hearts wept with his.

2. WHEN HE THOUGHT HIS LIFE WAS A WASTE AND THAT HE WAS USELESS

In Season One's episode, Salvation, Roy was kidnapped by a bitter man from the Glades. When asked why he deserved to live, Roy says "I don't." It's a powerful scene showing a boy who had no hope in life. The devastation in his voice devastated us, and it was only when the Arrow (or the Hood as he was known then) saved him that Roy saw a spark of renewed faith.

3. WHEN HE WENT TO PRISON FOR OLIVER

When Roy was willing to give up his life so that Oliver could continue to live his, Arrow showed just how much Roy had grown. He'd been suffering for months after killing the cop when he was hyped up on Mirakuru, and he couldn't forgive himself. So, to him, sacrificing his life was payment for his sins. No one wanted him to go, and hearts broke when he rode off into the sunset after faking his own death.

4. WHEN HE LET THEA GO

When Thea first met Roy Harper, he was an angry boy who stole what he wanted and didn't have a purpose in life. They had this amazing connection that developed into a unique bond, but that shattered when Roy betrayed Thea's trust. In Season Three's episode, Corto Maltese, he showed how much of a changed man he was by choosing her happiness over his own. Sometimes, love is about letting go.

5. WHEN HE SHARED HIS HEART WITH THEA

Roy returned to Star City in Episode 12 of Season 4, and even though he couldn't stay, he let Thea know his heart would always remain with her. It takes a strong man to walk away to protect someone he loves. Remaining in Star City isn't an option for Roy as long as the city believes he was the Arrow. So he had to go back underground and leave a dying Thea behind. This scene proved that their love was unbreakable.

Arrow: Season 4 Wraps, And (Spoilers) Were STILL On Set! What The Heck?

Written BY Amie Marie Bohannon on Creators.co

So wait, if they both were still on set, does that mean they are both alive?

Arrow season 4 wrapped filming yesterday, marking the end of an incredible and shocking season. Though, while filming has ended, Arrow still has four more episodes to air, beginning with next week's episode 19, Canary Cry. In the previous episode, we saw the death of one of Team Arrow's very own, Laurel Lance, at the hands of Damien Darhk, who fulfilled a promise to Captain Lance that his disobedience would cost his daughter's life. Then, in a flash-forward we have already seen a million times, Felicity Smoak and Oliver Queen sit awkwardly in a limo following Laurel's funeral, and Felicity very sternly informs Oliver that he has no choice but to kill Darhk.

Top 5 OTPs in Pop Culture Today

Written by Creator Tisha Mae Eaton on Creators.co

While watching a show, movie, or reading a book, you might find yourself drawn to a particular couple. One that you sit there and hope and pray that they will end up together in the end. Who make you happy, and may make you actually believe that true love can exist. This couple is usually known in fandoms as an OTP, or One True Pairing. Many people get passionate over their favorite pairings, and many debates and arguments have sprung up over them across the internet and among friends for years. Here are some of the most popular, and in my opinion, best pairings in pop culture today.

How The CW Will Force Me To Have The LGBT Talk With My Children

Written by Creator Marcus McBaller on Creators.co

Ok, deep breath...Just breathe, I can do this, I can do this. I don't have to do this, but I can do this. That is what I will be telling myself just before having the conversation of human sexuality and gender orientation with my 11 and 9 year old son. That's a tender age to have that talk at, right? I mean, I don't live in California where elementary schools have transgender bathrooms. I can shelter them from the real world for just a few more years, can't I? Apparently, I can not. Thanks CW, thanks a lot! But that's ok, I'm not mad you. Thank you for giving me that push.

Let me start from the beginning. My family and I (wife and two sons) are comic movie/TV lovers. We've seen every MCU movie at least three times or more and absolutely love the CW roster of shows. Flash, Arrow and Legends have literally brought us together around the TV. My DVR is always set to record and we always stay current. It's great because we get at least an hour of time together three days a week. Of course we get other time together, the kids play sports, mom is an active volunteer in the boys' school etc. But this is different. This is something that we all share in. It is forbidden that one of us watch with out the others. This is OUR THING, ya know? Good, wholesome, family friendly television. Then the CW went and changed the game on me.

It started with Nyssa and Sarah on Arrow. They became lovers for a short time and it kind of gave my wife and I an awkward moment. We balked at explaining it to our sons because it didn't seem like a big deal to them. Then Captain Singh on Flash was getting married to his boyfriend. Again, the boys had no reaction to that. Well, a slight one. But it was quelled with a simple "some guys like guys son, it's not a big deal". Then Legends brings it full bore with Sarah kissing the nurse in 1950. And one of my favorite new Arrow characters, Curtis Holt is openly gay and lives with his boyfriend. So this week, it was kind of on display a bit. It was something that couldn't be ignored. They are seeing it in all three of their favorite shows. Now, let me be clear. The issue for me is not one of right and wrong in regards to sexual orientation and partnership. I want my children to be loving, caring individuals..PERIOD. No matter what a person looks like or what their lifestyle is. The issue is, I just wasn't ready for them to grow up yet, and the CW helped me see that if I don't tell them, then the world will.

I applaud the CW for the way it portrays diversity on its network. They do so in a respectful way. This goes beyond the LGBT topic, it also includes race and gender. My family is interracial. My wife is white, I'm black, the kids are mixed. So what? That's common. So its good to see a love triangle with Iris West, Barry Allen and Eddie Thawn. I thought it was very nice the way they addressed the issues of race and gender inequality on Legends when they time hopped to 1950. They've brought the real world into our world without being "in your face" about it. I kind of think of it like this. You know how when you sneak into somewhere and you're not supposed to be there? The key to getting away with it is to act like you're supposed to be there. Don't make a big deal of it, I belong here. The CW has snuck major topics into my life and guess what, they belong there.

The Misogyny is Strong With This One: The Case of Felicity Smoak

Written by Creator J. on Creators.co

Felicity Smoak has been an important part of Oliver Queen’s journey since the beginning of the show. What was supposed to be a one-shot character became a compelling, multi-dimensional and strong female character in the DC Universe. From what we learned about her background, Felicity has been affected by being constantly let down by different men in her life and suffers from abandonment issues. It has been portrayed with the resurrection of her ex-boyfriend Cooper and the pain caused by her father who left her and Donna at a young age. She is smart, witty , not afraid to speak up and a great feminist model on television. Throughout the seasons, it has been emphasized in her personality that it is important for her to be included in a decision making process when it directly concerns her.

Stephen Amell To Receive CinemaCon's 'Male Star of Tomorrow' Award

Written by Creator Rose Moore

Stephen Amell will be adding another award to his shelf this year, as he scoops "Male Star of Tomorrow" from the National Association of Theater Owners at CinemaCon.

Now in its fifth year as CinemaCon, the convention hosts the Big Screen Achievement Awards, and today Mitch Neuhauser (managing director of the con) announced that they would be honoring Arrow star Amell.

Already making his mark on the small screen, Stephen Amell is poised to break out this summer on the big screen with his starring role in ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows. We are excited to honor this exciting up-and-coming actor with this year’s Male Star of Tomorrow Award.

Previous award-winners include Britt Robertson (2015), Chadwick Boseman (2014), Armie Hammer (2013), Taylor Kitsch (2012) and Chris Hemsworth (2011).

Amell has previously won a Gemini award for his role in ReGenesis in 2007, and has been nominated for thirteen others - eleven of which are for Arrow. As well as his breakout role in the comic book series, Amell is involved with the CW's two other superhero shows (The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow), the connected animated mini-series (Vixen) and will be co-starring in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows as Casey Jones this summer.

His star is definitely one on the rise, and with all three of the live-action DC comic shows on the CW recently renewed for another season, it seems that his fame as the hooded archer will only keep growing. Amell is also active on social media and does a huge amount of charity work, raising money for a range of causes. He also stars in a reality roadtrip series about wine, Dudes Being Dudes in Wine Country, along with various wine events at conventions.

Amell absolutely deserves this award, and hopefully it will become one of many, many more in the future.

{WARNING: CONTAINS SPOILERS}

The CW have been keeping us on our toes this season. The greatest mystery has (sort of) been solved over on The Flash (though we are still very confused about how HE is Zoom), but the biggest mystery facing fans of Arrow is: Who is in that grave? Theories have ranged from Detective Lance to Laurel, Thea to Diggle, for awhile it seemed like it was going to be Felicity, but that has since been ruled out. The front runner for most theories as of late seem to point towards Felicity's Mama Bear or Oliver's son, William. I don't think it's any of them!

Everyone's favorite IT girl and love of the Green Arrow himself, Felicity Smoak, aka Overwatch, was finally given her own official Arrow character image. Felicity Smoak entered into the Arrowverse in season one when she was tasked with repairing Oliver's unusually damaged laptop. She soon joined Diggle and Oliver in their fight to save Starling city after discovering Oliver's Arrow identity while saving his life, thus Team Arrow was born. Four season later and her and Oliver Queen are walking down the isle, well, almost at least, pending season 4 developments.

The latest episode of Arrow has me asking more than a few questions other than if I'm going to stay interested long enough to finish this season. A lot of things happened including the return of Vixen and her animal spirit totem, the revelation of Oliver's son, William, to the rest of the group, and another battle with Damien Darhk and the forces of H.I.V.E.
What does it all mean though? What's going to happen when the show returns after another painstakingly long wait to March 23rd? Here's a couple quick bullet points for the pivotal moments and what I believe they could mean for the fourth season.

The Arrowverse became bigger and bigger year after year. From The Green Arrowto The Flash, Vixen and DC's Legends of Tomorrow, The CW built a universe to which no comic book fan would have dared dream of. You'd maybe like to start watching those shows but with more than 100 episodes now aired and a few crossovers, you're probably a little reluctant to jump on the bandwagon.
Here is a little guide to help you watch without any chronological error all DC shows and get a clearer picture of the Arrowverse. This article will regularly be updated and I'll try to keep it as spoiler free as possible!

Chemistry. The most elusive concept to grasp, the most impossible element to fake, and the most important factor in how audiences perceive relationships. Chemistry has been stumping show runners and casting directors for years because you can't write it in, you can't force it, and you really can't sell anything without it. That is why chemistry tests are such a vital step in casting love interests on TV shows and movies. But the power of chemistry is not just limited to love interests, it applies whenever you put two actors on screen and expect them to interact, and Arrow hit the nail on the head when they put Stephen Amell, Emily Bett Rickards and David Ramsey in the same scene.
