ACK. Been wanting more and more to have a pack of my own, it's so hard for me to find other animals irl because of my health, I also can't drive and even if I could I don't have a car lol. I'm really wishing to have those close bonds with other creatures and canines. Feels like I'm the only coyote in the whole world sometimes.

This piece is meant to show how I feel/see myself most of the time. Though I do have shifts where I feel exclusively like one of my types (mental, phantom, envisage, what have you) often in my day to day I feel like an amalgam of a few or all of them smooshed together, with the percentages of each type fluctuating around. This piece captures the feeling of when I am a mesh of coyote, karst shepherd, and werewolf!
I didn’t post about it but it was my 19th birthday a few days ago, this canine is just about 100 dog years old! ⭐️

5. What do you like most about your own kintype(s)?
Karst shepherd: l’d say I really value our obedience and devotion to working and helping.
Coyote: I love how resilient and adaptive coyotes are!
Coastal wolf: I think it’s so super cool how important wolves are to ecosystems in general ! specifically in regard to my subspecies I really love our unique relationship with the habitat we live in
9. Do you have any phantom limbs? What are they?
I do! Most of the time I experience phantom ear and muzzle shifts, but it can range from just that to full body phantom shifts sometimes
15. What kind of weather do/does your kintype(s) enjoy?
Mostly milder heat paired with cold winters, rain and snow !
16. What types of places do/does your kintype(s) enjoy?
Karst shepherd: Fields, valleys, mountains etc!
Coyote: I am an urban coyote, so I live in the city, urban coyotes usually inhabit small wooded areas in and around the city
Coastal wolf: pacific beaches and forests, more specifically temperate rainforests !
17. What kinds of food do/does your kintype(s) like?
Fish, seal, small mammals like rabbits, rodents, garden fruits and veggies, doggie kibble ^_^

33. Do/does your kintype(s) look drastically different from your human form?
Well yeah they’re all canines haha, but there are definitely ways that I look similar to my kintypes! I definitely dress in colors similar to my coat colors
36 Do you have any fictionkin type(s)? If so, what are they?
I don’t! I did identify as Mabel pines for a short while in like 2017 but quickly realized that I wasn’t her. I also identify as ame from wolf children before I figured out my theriotypes. I don’t identify as him anymore but I still feel a very strong connection to him.
38 Do/does your kintype(s) prefer light or darkness more?
I’d say darkness for the most part !
44 Do you dress differently based on your kintype(s)?
Kind of! I’ve always had a sense of style that incorporates brown, grey, and black which already aligns with my kintypes colors. There are definitely times when I’m in a specific shift and I feel the need to dress more like the part of my I am experiencing most atm. Since awakening I’ve definitely veered more into incorporating canine/animal motifs into my wardrobe too.

I actually have a dedicated playlist of songs that I associate with my kintypes or that make me feel shifty that you can check out here if you’d like!
Overall the music I associate with my therianthropy is acoustic folky type stuff, but for my different types specifically it can vary a bit.
I feel the most connected to my dog type when listening to said acoustic folky junk and music that is more self reflective lyrically, but my coyote type I associate with songs that are a bit more gritty and faster. which I think can be attributed to the fact that I am an urban coyote and songs with more grit remind me of the city I’ve grown up in! I associate my wolf type with a bunch of different songs and genres, anything that mentions wolves is usually put there, I also really heavily associate my wolf theriotype with my childhood so lots of songs that triggered wolf feelings when I was a kid (before I knew that’s what they were lol) come to mind.
Here’s some specific songs that heavily connect with each of my types:
Karst shepherd: poison root- Alex g
Western coyote: I hear the rain- violent femmes
Coastal wolf: old man- Neil young & wolf- big thief (couldn’t pick just one oops)

I’ve finally confirmed coyotes as a theriotype. I’ve been doing more introspection and journaling lately, and it has helped immensely in figuring out my feelings and experiences and stuff.
my 3 theriotypes sort of embody my perception of my past, present, and future. I won’t go into it heavily here because it’s a bit of a mess to try to explain. My wolf theriotype connects to my past, my coyote theriotype fits with my present, and my dog theriotype is in line with how I view my future.
it’s not that they are manifestations of my past present and future, the feelings and experiences that I associate with each of them also fall in line with my perspective and outlook on each time.
Coyotes have just been the missing link that brings everything together and helped me figure out this perspective.
My appearance is somewhere in between these two colorations. My build is a bit scrawnier overall.

i’ve been off and on questioning coyotes as a theriotype for the past month and a half, but i’m having a hard time figuring out if the things i experience are actually pointing me towards coyotes or if they are due to my already confirmed wolf theriotype.
long story short: do any coyotes have some words of wisdom or specific realizations that helped confirm you’re a coyote that you could share? or like tips that helped you distinguish your species as coyote and not something else?
