And while we will see any posts highlighting the statistic of 1 in 5 people living with a mental health condition, I want to take a moment to remind everyone that 5 in 5 people have mental health. We all need to be talking more about mental health because we all have it. We all need to be talking the factors that positively and negatively impact our mental health. We all need to talking about ways to prioritize our mental health. We all need to be talking about signs and symptoms that indicate a decline in our mental wellbeing. A reminder during #mentalhealthawarenessmonth that we all play a role in expanding and furthering the conversation around mental health. 💚" ↟↡ #therapyiscool A Mental Health Action Campaign www.hashtagtherapyiscool.com @hashtagtherapyiscool https://www.instagram.com/p/COyR1TLJPw6/?igshid=1ufon0ktc0t1w

Repost from @brennadoodles "ONE YEAR. We all deserve a heck of a lot more than this cake, but take this as a sign to treat yourself this month. Treat yourself because despite all the fear, anxiety, uncertainty, loss, change, cancelled plans, sadness, and frustration, you’ve made it through this shit year, and that alone is worth celebrating. 🎉" https://www.instagram.com/p/CL_EY6oJ9qt/?igshid=1aj5saq24usdx
Repost from @bigfightinwords ・・・ "Hold on to the small lights. Lots of small lights can make things a whole lot brighter. Today I’m holding on to the way the sun shined between the clouds, and a breath of crisp, cold air when I walked outside. I’m holding on to my favorite book, and replaying my favorite songs. On days like today, I am reminded that gratefulness is free. I have breath in my lungs, warmth for my bones, and rest for my tired soul. I have space to be grateful for what I have and I have enough room to still hope for better things to come. There are little lights all around me, and I’m holding on to them tight." https://www.instagram.com/p/CK2vEw9pbtX/?igshid=1gvlvo4q1dfyx
Reposted from @morganharpernichols ・・・ "Oh how wonderfully you have grown since February of last year. You have grown in wisdom and you have grown in courage. You have come alive despite the fear. You have traveled through mountains and valleys. Through it all, you made it here. And even though there are moments where you are all too aware that you not where you thought would be, you are still not where used to be, and you have learned so much more than you are able to see right now. May this be the space you start to notice all of the little ways that the waiting has not been in vain. Let this be the February you notice all the small, yet meaningful change, and all you learned from yesterday. Come back to this a month from now. Reflect on the ways your life the world has changed. Breathe deep and recognize, the wisdom courage, and grace, that has found you amidst of the change. For whether the growth was subtle, or great, you are not who you were yesterday. Even here, you are traveling onward in beautiful, honest ways. MHN" https://www.instagram.com/p/CK2khldJhOu/?igshid=1nnpb3c5l5eqv
Today is World Suicide Prevention Day. In honor of that, I’m sharing my speech from 2012 that shares a tiny part of my story. The link to the video is in my bio. . You never know who might be struggling. Don’t be afraid to talk to others about their mental health and how they’re doing. End the stigma. Mental health is just as important as physical health, and is nothing to be ashamed of. So grateful to be free of clinical depression now, for about 10 years now. I’m grateful that I had people around me who checked on me and didn’t let me give up when I was so close to doing so. If you’re struggling, I know how hard it is to believe that it will get better. I know that you feel no hope. I also know that these feelings are temporary. Keep fighting. Get help. Talk to me or anyone you trust. Never ever give up. Stay.
This is a gentle reminder to be kind to yourself. Disability and chronic illness are hard enough.

Repost from @worrywellbeing • “You are not being selfish for being upset about all the awful things going on the world. It’s easy to dismiss our own worries and emotions because ‘others have it worse’ or because ‘there are people dying’. But what you are going through is valid. The impact that this pandemic is having on you is valid. You do not need to minimise your struggles just because other people are struggling too. Of course, we do have to remember to be grateful for all we have. But you can be grateful and struggling at the same time. You can acknowledge all you have whilst also recognising your pain. Be gentle with yourself. Don’t dismiss what you are going through💞” https://www.instagram.com/p/B-3PHJ1JHPd/?igshid=9p8yb25dz7bb

Repost from @morganharpernichols • My plans keep changing, but I’ll keep trusting that perhaps, in these unknowns, my awareness of what really matters will grow. Perhaps, in slowing down, I will learn to peel back the layers and find that even here in the wild of my worry, my heart is still beating. Peace will still find me here. Joy will still find me here. And maybe I will still grow in courage despite what I fear. And maybe, even though this season does not look how I thought it would, there is beauty and there is good, even in the smallest things. So I will trust and believe: I have not missed out on what was meant for me. I will look back on this season with gratitude that I chose to breathe deep and travel through. I had to be stronger than I ever thought I would have to be but even when I couldn’t see it, grace was blooming fully within me. https://www.instagram.com/p/B-D6CATpeTI/?igshid=5vwvr7edx2r3
