@ the other anon!! anon pls don't have a baby if you don't want one! this sounds harsh but children grow into adults & they know when they weren't wanted <3 i wish more people knew it was ok not to have a child simply bc they don't want to! tell your partner how you feel xx
yes! this 100%!!
hi, im 24 and i got married 5 months ago, my husband reaaaly wants a baby but to me it feels too early for me to have one... and somehow i dont get the point of having babies they cry almost all the time and having one will simply end my life forever... but i want to understand WHY people wants that thing in their lives.... can you tell me pls?
firstly i want to say, don’t ever let your partner pressure you into having children! i know you didn’t say that he is, but please don’t feel pressured by anyone to have children for any reason. some people never feel those feelings of wanting a baby, and that’s ok!!! there is absolutely nothing wrong with anyone who decides they don’t want kids.
now, to answer your actual question of “why do people want kids”.. honestly? who knows! for many people, there’s a combination of basic biological drive, wanting to feel fulfilled in the very specific way that raising a child is rewarding, and probably a certain amount of social pressure to follow the “life script”. for some people, it turns out great! my baby hardly cries (and i think it’s safe to say for most people that hearing your own baby cry is a lot different than strangers’ babies). i absolutely love being a mother, but there’s plenty of unhappy parents who regret their decision to have kids too. it’s a life that you truly don’t understand until you live it, and it’s an appealing life to some people!
