Hey. I am tapping the microphone right now to say no being mean to Kaitlyn Dever. I do not want to see it. I don’t care about your opinions of Abby from the game. Let her do her thing on the screen. Thank you
THE TRAILER IS OUT I'M ABOUT TO BE UNREACHABLE FOR THE NEXT SEVERAL BUSINESS DAYS NOBODY TOUCH ME
It happened today :(
Shoutout to every animal in the apocalypse that has brought out Ellie’s sense of childhood whimsy whenever she needed it most
New meme format just dropped
Laura Bailey, the voice of Abby in TLoU2, posing over the dead doctor is peak comedy everybody else go home
Love love LOVE the focus on Joel’s boots during his rampage in the hospital. Because it’s not in a fit of rage, or desperation. Joel’s face is blank. He’s not thinking about consequences of his actions. He’s thinking “you took away my daughter and now I’m getting her back.” It’s a skill he picked up from Tess. He knows what’s coming. There’s no need to get emotional about it. It’s the simplest thing in the world to him: “You don’t get to take her away from me. Not again.” Hell, he doesn’t even look at the doctor when he shoots him! He’s looking right at Ellie, his entire focus and purpose laying in front of him! Mans is straight up on autopilot!
Joel is a unstoppable force in his grief. And Ellie is the immovable object that keeps him from walking straight over the ledge.
I mean I was expecting some horrible awful shit to come out of David’s mouth this episode but I was Not expecting him to connect Cordyceps to the absolute devastation that love causes, the kind of love that makes you do things you never thought you could for someone you love.
“What does Cordyceps do? Is it evil?
No.
It's fruitful. It multiplies. It feeds and protects its children, and it secures its future with violence, if it must.
It loves.”
That’s the most fucked up and terrible way of explaining it, and it’s exactly what Joel and Ellie are willing to do for one another. Thanks for that, David.
CALLUS DDDD:
Don’t trust that fucking soup
Can’t wait for next week’s episode where we get to meet Troy Baker’s new character, Joevil (<- Joel + evil)
Also love the running joke that stairs fucking suck lol
Morning advice: don’t think about the parallel of Sarah and Joel both pushing away the people who want to help them because the pain is to much or you’ll explode
Ellie’s confronted with a looot of decisions this episode. It’s interesting to see which ones she chooses as she continues to grow.
Her first choice is her very first real decision on what she wants in the long run. She can either keep kicking ass/getting her ass kicked in the small fights now, or she can start picking and choosing her battles. Wait until she’s got some real power as an officer to, as Cpt. Kwong put it, “tell the Bethanys of the world where to shove it.”
So he gives her two options: Cup or keys. Container or tool. Overflow or unlock. Grunt or captain. Power or none.
(This is the version of Ellie that doesn’t know loss yet. She choses keys.)
Her second choice changes things, because it begins with everything else being taken away. She rages and wails and smashes up the place that could’ve been her and Riley’s paradise. She’s furious at having that future with her taken away.
So Riley gives her two options: The gun or time. Quick or slow, but hanging on and celebrating the time left with each other the whole way. Die human or die monsters. End it now or lose their minds together.
(This is the version of Ellie who thinks she’s dying with her best friend. She chooses time.)
Her third choice isn’t even a choice at all. Even weak and bleeding out Joel still strong enough to push her off, to tell her to leave him. Ellie doesn’t accept that. She rips through that entire house for anything that can help her have just a little more time with him, anything at all that can give them even just a few more minutes.
Her rage has sharpened into determination. She’s not letting some jackass with a broken baseball bat take away the only person who hasn’t left her yet.
Still, Joel gives her the options anyway: Go or stay. Leave him before he can leave her, or dig through this grimy mess of a house and find a way to make it work. Cut ties or pick up the needle.
This is the version of Ellie that won’t let herself lose again.
She will always choose the needle.
