god i cant believe they axed the amazing spiderman series…. they got fucking ANDREW GARFIELD and SALLY FIELD. two acting LEGENDS. in a SUPERHERO MOVIE. like do y’all remember that scene in tasm2 where peter was covered entirely in soot and ash and may walks in (after some debacle during which peter is on the walls and ceiling per usual) and is like “what the fuck is on your face” and peter goes “i was cleaning. the chimney.” and may just pauses and says, in a voice i will never forget for the rest of my days, “we Have No Chimney.” that could have been the most boring scene in the movie but instead i have it bookmarked on chrome and i watch it maybe 3 to 4 to 60 times per week. that’s art. that’s talent. and we will never have anything that good in superhero films ever again.

im not overreacting when i say it IS the best scene between peter and aunt may in any spiderman movie since the dawn of cinema. just see for urself:

There are elements of Gwen that are damsel in distress— she is very strong, independent, incredibly intelligent—she’s the valedictorian, she has her life planned out in front of her, she’s the oldest in the family so she feels very responsible—so there’s a lot that she has together but everyone is stupid in love. So her first love is… big. There’s an element of being a damsel in distress, which I think is important. Women don’t always have to be just the one thing; they could be lots of things… including a damsel sometimes.
