Pretty sure Jennifer was smoking a blunt but cigarettes cause horrible health problems while having no positive effects beyond removing the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal whereas pot makes you feel good and doesn't do much else as long as you don't smoke it on a regular basis (and as it's less addictive than caffeine, so a lot of people never do.) The only reason it's not as acceptable as a large glass of wine of an evening is various historical factors. So don't feel bad! *reassures*
Thank you :)
It’s weird that it has so much stigma and is still illegal then. I know people can get it for medicinal reasons so it can’t be too bad, but I always assumed it damaged your brain or something in the long term but I guess it’s mostly short term effects like getting drunk that affect your brain - which I’ve never personally been interested in, so it’s hard to relate to wanting to get drunk or high, so it’s all in a box of things I’m kind of judgemental about, even though I don’t want to be since I’m in a minority and it’s none of my business and it’s not hurting anyone most of the time.
That was a long sentence but hopefully made sense
I guess I never want to make a fool of myself (more so than I already do sober) or lose control so feel kind of anxious about the whole idea and feel I can’t relate so I get kind of freaked out about it - even when people I like like drinking I feel alienated so I’m kind of weird
Though the last few times I’ve been basically drunk on lack of sleep but with my friends or Hermione I’ve had a really fun time so maybe there is some merit in forcing down du vin if I’m going to start living right and sleeping normal
“Living right” = alcohol/drug use y/y?
What are some of the historical factors why pot has such a bad rep? If you don’t mind explaining a bit? I don’t know junk
Sorry this was so long and self-involved but you know me by now
