Some of you need to learn the difference between skinny girls being made to feel insecure about their body from certain people and fat girls being made to feel like their entire life is worthless because of their body size from literally the entire world

Some useful links for those who don’t believe fat shaming is real.

Shaming others accomplishes very little - it’s rude and cruel. However, obesity is a huge issue, and it’s important not to have your weight jeopardise your health.
My favourite part is when you made this comment thinking you were saying something profound by showing that you haven’t read any of the above links.
Let’s add some more links!
- Research soundly establishes intentional weight loss doesn’t work.
- More research on why the “obesity crisis” is bullshit.
- Weight loss surgery doesn’t work, has high failure rates, has high suicide rates, etc.
- Science backed: Dieting is unhealthy for children and teens.
- US Weight Loss Market Worth $66 Billion.
- More stories of fatphobia nearly killing people, struggles with disordered eating, people congratulating others for being deathly ill because they lost weight, etc.
- “Ellen’s dying wish was that women of size make her death matter by advocating strongly for their health and not accepting that fat is the only relevant health issue.”
- More and more and more links on fat people being denied care because “obesity”.
- Reasons to stop fat-shaming, backed with citations.
- Fat patients are routinely denied organ transplants. The NHS wanted to limit who gets surgery based on weight.
- Why the BMI scale (you know, that thing that designates “obseity”) doesn’t work.
- The BMI scale is bullshit as an indicator of health. This is well documented.
- Fat acceptance helps, not harms.
- Our #fatphobia and #diet culture tags are updating with more information and citations all the time.
- And fat people can be healthy. “Obese” people can be healthy.
But finally, and most importantly: Health is not a determiner of value. People are allowed to be unhealthy. Almost everyone is, regardless of weight, so why the fuck are we bringing up weight? Why do we always gotta?
Do you really think no fat person has ever heard your little “friendly reminder” in their entire fucking life, and you have to hop on every post about fat people being discriminated against, oppressed, and killed, to make sure that fat people remember their place?
Seriously, you wanna talk about “weight jeopardizing your health”, and you turn on the fat people despite all this evidence of fat people DYING because of assumptions based by weight? Why is it when it comes to “weight jeopardizing your health”, it’s always about being “too heavy” and never about being underweight, anorexia and eating disorders, etc?
Could it possibly be that….
You aren’t actually here to help anyone? You’re just a fatphobe? You’re just another asshole after all?
