I’ve spent so much time and so have you And we could buy something nice together if you wanted to

Sometimes our black picket fence borders would look like prison cell bars, and we probably couldn’t see past the houses in our front yard

Some people slice diagonally through days, and scribble out all evidence of living It helps to forgive forgetting and it helps to forget forgiving

But I have nothing to forget or regret Just things I wish I could remember So I will be spending our unspent time here For the rest of my life In September
