every time i see people trying to normalize fatness by sexualizing it i think of that post thats like “what are you gonna tell a fucking 12 y/o? dont cry dude youre so thick? stop it” bc like. truly. not only do i personally not want my body to be sexualized lol but also its so harmful to kids like?? being fat is normal in all contexts not just when youre in lingerie with a beat face looking pouty at the camera like can we talk about the variances in human bodies without resorting to making them normal only when theyre sexy, my god

your body is good, not because it is desirable to others, but because you live in it

You don’t need abs to be worthy!

Some VERY WELL DESERVED body positive love for Thor, soon also available on my Society 6 as a print and other things.

Inspired by the adorable ‘you don’t need abs to be fab’ picture <3

Art note: Bodies change throughout life, and Thor is no exception. And his reasons are completely understandable and valid. He suffered the most loss and failure and he became depressed. This is something that happens to many people, because life is unfair and hard. This godly character suddenly became relatable. And it saddens me that he was treated like a continuous fat joke throughout the movie instead of being supported and loved, that is why I made this art, to show support and love for this character, and anyone who relates to him. <3

Click for higher resolution. Please like or reblog if saved. Ask me if you want to use this picture for anything, I don’t bite ;)

I saw this originally on Facebook and came back to find the artist because this art made me cry. It’s so wonderful and loving and reminds me of the bodies of people that I love very much.

On one hand im super excited that female celebrities like Daisy Ridley, Brie Larson, Tessa Thompson, etc are out their lifting weights and looking strong and having fun, but I can’t help notice that hollywood only tolerates a certain level of buffness in women. Like we’re supposed to buy slim-but-toned female superheroes, but Captain America and Thor have to be/ get to be characters who actually look like they could pull off insane feats of strength? Wonder Woman should get to be absolutely jacked. I wish there was way more body diversity for women in so many ways (not just thin superheroes). And only ever seeing toned/kinda buff women in these roles only contributes to how waaaaay over the top disgusted/judgemental people get about women with even more muscle than that. A little bit of muscle on a woman is always way overreacted to and percieved as way more masculine than it really is. And heaven forbid women were ever butch and gender non conforming! Just…..argh!

Average size mannequin with average size woman.

The problem, in one picture.

I never realized until seeing this picture that my interpretation of an average size woman has become REALLY SKEWED oh my god I wanna cry

best picture ive reblogged in a while.

I’ve been struggling with my body image recently because I’ve gained a lot more weight… and this is so helpful to me because I think my image has been skewed by a lot of mannequins in stores.

Boost the fuck out of this post. The fashion industry has a lot to answer for in making women feel so shitty about their bodies. Curves are beautiful ♥️

fat trans ppl deal with a lot of shit and its so sucky because some people will only support skinny trans ppl bc thats all they can conceptualize and accept when trans ppl in actuality come in all different types of bodies

if u dont support fat trans ppl the way u support skinny trans ppl u need to rethink what kind of “ally” u are.

As a fat trans woman this is so true even within the trans community. I’ve had so many other trans women invalidate me, be dismissive of my issues and experience, and so forth simply because of my size. It’s really fucking disappointing to run into.

Y’all should check out the works of Rakeem Cunningham! He photographs a lot of diverse and beautiful people, both cis and trans. As a gay trans man myself, they really help to reassure me that there are gay men beyond photogenic cis twinks and bears. These photographs are from his series Body Pride:

These are from his Trans Professionals series:

Also, check out Jess T Dugan’s photographs of trans and genderqueer people:
