Bear with me as I post one more Cecropia photo...last night I found this male Cecropia attached to the screen door of my porch like a kid drooling on the glass window of a candy shop. My container of females was on the porch, I guess their pheromones called him in! There was also a second male fluttering around and around overhead that later disappeared.
I am feeling 90% sure this is a wild male, not the small male I raised and set free three or four days ago. Hope that is true, because I grabbed this fellow and put him in with the females to mate (hopefully not with his sisters, because these offspring were already 2nd generation inbred...).

A big fat Cecropia caterpillar (Hyalophora cecropia) that Eric Olson brought to Moth Night last week. Did I mention it was huge? HUGE!!!!
