Competition proposal by Ismini Chrysochoou and Konstantinos Antoniou designing a typical Greek hotel room of an area of 18 – 24m2 in the context of the Room18 European design competition run by DOMES greek review of architecture, central perspective.
Room 18 is a programme for the exploration of the architecture of hospitality today with a view to re-thinking and the generation of ideas which will revise the current givens in the tourism sector. Now that we have passed through the period of standardisation and uniformity, we are in search of variety and individuation which will respond to the special needs of the contemporary traveller, but with an awareness of the limitations which he poses.
