“First Date” - art and letters by Nick Robles ( @nickroblesart ) story by @northstarfan
Just a little fill-in-the-blank scene, since we don’t know much at all about their actual courtship and I crave details. ;)
These two are my comics OTP. I love how Northstar opens up around Kyle. I love how, after years of being rejected in one way or another by the world, his teammates, and even his own sister, Jean-Paul finally has someone who’ll accept him for who he is and put him first. I love how Kyle is the “nice” one, but can still hold his own with Northstar, and even go toe-to-toe with him when it comes to snark. I love how Kyle recognizes that the superhero lifestyle isn’t for him, but doesn’t reject it on Jean-Paul’s behalf, and encourages him to be the best hero he can be, even when it means he might be put in harm’s way himself. I love it when they get to be mundane and domestic. I love that Kyle gives Jean-Paul a safe place to land when all the insanity is done with, and I love that Jean-Paul appreciates what he has in Kyle instead of pushing him to be something he’s not.
Just… more of these two, please. And more relationships like this.
Happy Pride Month from as many Marvel gays as I could fit into one image! May Pride be a generous month full of blessings.

Remembering that x-men writers don’t use Kyle Jinadu-Beaubier enough and that fans under appreciate him

An epilogue of sorts to Northstar and Kyle’s Paris honeymoon. I felt like they just needed a little more time to themselves than they got in the actual story. And yes, I do love Kyle’s thing about heights. ;)
But…ugh, if nothing else, this proves I just need to bite the bullet and start playing with Illustrator if I’m going to try to letter anything ever.
i like to think that all of the queer xmen just start hanging out at kyle and northstar’s place and kyle’s full time job just becomes trying to keep them alive
Bobby has Kyle as his emergency contact

Honestly? Kyle’s reaction to bad new? Relatable.
So I really don’t want to get into a “ship war” but I would just like to remind everyone that Jean-Paul is canonically very happily married to Kyle Jinadu, one of the greatest civilian characters in the Marvel universe, and IDK, it just seems weird to me to not want to support them, right?
Anyway things I love about this scene from Astonishing X-Men Annual #1:
