COMICS BLAH!

Hello Mr. Bendis. I recently purchased the most recent Miles Morales: Ultimate Spiderman book in which Miles was poisoned by Katie's father. Now I thought the book was wonderful. Amazing art, great dialogue, Miles has really evolved into his own kind of Spiderman. However, my only problem with this comic is that when Miles was poisoned, shouldn't his Spider Sense have gone off?? How was that not a red flag for him. After all, Katie's father isn't Venom. Thank you sir.

 I have been involved with many interesting conversations about spider sense with some of the older editors over the years. we all agree that other than Dr. strange’s magic wipe away power this is possibly the most writer abused power.

 some people have used it as a radar, a homing device, but it’s only an immediate danger sense. a physical danger sense. something is coming right for you… spider sense.

 so a little bit of poison in a drink would not be detected by the spider sense. in fact it’s probably the best way to stop a Spider-man.
