Because some of us are feeling nostalgic right now for the glory days of the original production of Les Mis, which we may or may not have even seen... Here are the two “flagship” theatres from those late ‘80s/early ‘90s glory days.

*The Palace Theatre, home to the London production from 1985 to 2004 (now home to Harry Potter and the Cursed Child).

*The Broadway Theatre, where the original Broadway production played from 1987 to 1990 (now home to King Kong).

Photos of the three theatres where "Les Mis" has played in Los Angeles, CA

Just because I love Les Mis history and photos of theaters...

The Shubert Theatre, Century City (site of the show's LA premiere: the 2nd National Tour, 1988)

The Pantages Theatre, Hollywood (site of the 1st National Tour in 1990 and the 3rd National Tour several times)

The Ahmanson Theatre, Downtown LA (site of the 3rd National Tour in 1999/2000 and the 25th Anniversary Tour in 2011)

Unfortunately, the Shubert Theatre was torn down in 2002, and I was only a baby when the show played there, so I'll never know what the experience was like for LA's first Les Mis audiences. :( But I have seen the show twice at the Pantages and once at the Ahmanson. Of those two, I have to say the Pantages is my favorite. It's a gorgeous theatre with such a rich Hollywood history, and they even say it's haunted! :)

Just a little nostalgia from my home city.
