Attention to the man who death stared me as I got into my car parked in a disabled spot today. Your scowl achieved nothing besides scaring me.
Some of the time now, I’m not in my wheelchair when I go out. That doesn’t mean it doesn’t hurt. That it doesn’t wear me down. That my muscles don’t fatigue. Not all disabilities are visible. I spent 6 years using a wheelchair to mobilise completely. My disability is still as valid now as it was then.
We’re not shown this potentially invisible side to disability much, so I’ll give you a pass.
