is it just me or does chocolate not taste as good when it’s cold?
Hello! I actually have an explanation?
So, the basic science is that when food is cold, the oils and fat solids in the thing are more solid. That limits how well your taste buds can interact with the food in question. Stuff like ice cream kind of works around that by upping how much sugar and other artificial/natural flavoring they add.
But yea. Since all of those fat solids and oils and stuff are the compound that gives food its taste, cold food tastes less potent.
Interesting! Thanks for explaining!!
