something I’ve noticed at least with people I know is that it’s considered very hard or even embarrassing to talk about sexual assault or abuse in ways that are explicit. not even necessarily that to be honest, just the act of acknowledgment of it is something considered uncomfortable in and of itself.. leaving you to fill the blanks in because they don’t want to talk about it with just ‘well, you know’ etc.. the way people abbreviate it to ‘sa’ in a face to face conversation. I once was talking to someone and they were telling me about a scene in a movie and they paused thinking of how to word it, obviously hesitant. they asked me if I knew the story of medusa and i said yes and they told me what happened to her is what happened in the movie. i don’t have too much to say on it because everyone is obviously different and a huge part of everything is probably due to political correctness, but i do feel the more taboo people let the subject and even word of rape and such be the more it will be damaging in both the long and short run of things.

trying to fight against the sexualization of women by sexualizing men doesn't work. when people make mods for video games where they turn the women into bimbos is because they have genuinely lust for them, but when people make mods to give cloud strife a tramp stamp is because they think it's funny. dungeon meshi senshi panty shots aren't fan service, they're jokes. they're trying to make a joke about how funny it is that they are showing this man's panties

worst is that putting a traditional macho hero in bikinis and giving them things that are traditionally associated with women isn't just a joke, it's a transmisogynistic joke. you're pointing at cloud strife with a tramp stamp and laughing at how funny it is that a man has one of these

If your first reaction to seeing a gnc man partnered with an equally gnc woman is to go "I just know the sexual roles are reversed 😏" I just think that's a weird jump to make and I don't know if regressive is the word but it's definitely uncreative.

I keep thinking about how I know a lot of masc bi guys. And I've known "bicurious" femme gay men who literally couldn't unpack their gendered attraction to women because they were so ingrained that being fem was uniquely gay trait. So then, yes, I do think it's weird to then see videos of fem bi men existing with their girlfriends and either hearing "is he hiding something 🤔" or "She MUST top" It's very very weird that that's the only interaction y'all have.

I talk about lgbt men every chance that I get to because you have got to understand the ways in which male identity is erased. If patriarchy can convince you all that being fem equals bottoming, being submissive and otherwise womanly, and/or that being butch means being dominant, topping, and otherwise taking on a defined patriarchal role, none of you are doing work in your downtime to unlearn gender roles and how femme and butch are terms that subvert them, not reinforce. 🤦🏾‍♀️
