no bother, don’t worry! and depends on what you ship and who you stan, anon-san, no more and no less than that. oh, and on if you give a fuck at all xD my tag “discourse” HERE contains a few posts on older pages of a few foxes talking about the hate received, but also one of the recent hate waves where I got involved too. or look through the recent posts on tumblr.com/search/coldsaturn or look a bit back on shihoran’s blog (just to make an example) or look at the post the aftgexchange blog had to make because people where being lil shits even when sending out their preferences for the exchange depending on whether you’re new to tumblr fandoms at all or not, you can imagine what will make someone more prone to receiving hate and call out posts and vagueing mocking texts in the fandom tag. things that will make antis’ alarm go off:- rarepair ships- ships that break canon ships - ships that change canon or major fanon sexual orientations - talking about riko in any way that isn’t laughing at his death. you buy a ticket for an anti in your inbox if you build him up as a flawed human and explore his character in any setting and AU- talking about the Bad Guys: Riko, Ichirou, Aaron, Seth - exploring abusive relationships in abusive form, but also canon abusive relationships in a non abusive setting (riko/kevin for example)- anything even remotely resembling incest even when it’s not (like andrew/neil/aaron ; aaron and andrew don’t interact sexually with each other)- not buying major fanon things: aaron’s homophobia is worse than murder, any ship with ichirou is abusive even if we know shit about him, seth is a demon and must not be named, renee and allison are lesbians and together- age gap ships (wymack with any of the foxes)- daddy kink (this one was easy to guess)- de-aging trope- BDSM & kink is a delicate topic as usual because you don’t know when you’ll find an anti-kink accusing you of being abusive this is for the things that happened in fandom already. my mental list of things that would give antis a field day is way longer, and I’m still debating whether my spite surpasses my laziness. it might. anyway, if you conform to the fandom standard of Unproblematicness you’ll be fine. if you don’t, depends if you give a flying fuck what others say about what you’re allowed to write/think. a good number of foxes who wanted to be free to write whatever they wanted left the fandom for private spaces that were safer, but there are many of us still here to make a point that fandom won’t be polished, and any fox is welcome here. do what you need to do for your safety, anon. if you decide to go against the current, you won’t be alone. if you decide to play it safely (or maybe if you’re genuinely baffled at the list above and actually perfectly agree that this content should never see the light of day) then you’ll be just fine. it helps if you insult any of us bad shippers in the tag when a call out post is made, it will show where your loyalties lie. P.S. I’d like to tell you if there’s a fixed pattern for bigger and smaller blogs, but there is not. Some smaller blogs are ignored, some others are hit. Some bigger blogs are ignored, others are hit.
