Hey no! It’s alright, take your time with answering asks, and yes I’m alright! My anxiety has lowered quite a bit since :D
Howdy, again!!
I still feel bad for just responding now, but that does mean a lot! Anxiety is, to put it quite bluntly, a real pain in the ass. So, I'm glad to hear you're doing okay and feeling less anxious!
And since it's been awhile between you sending this and me answering, I hope you're still doing well! In case you need some positivity, just remember that no matter how much your anxiety tries to put you down, you are stronger than it. I believe in you, and I am proud of you for working through it!! It's never easy, so be sure to be gentle with yourself along the way 💜
I apologize for just responding to this now, but I am 99% sure I know exactly what this ask is referring to. Is this the post in reference?? 🤣
Because, uhhhh... I love how it's not just "RIP John" but specifically "RIP John's ass" because you know that bull's horn definitely reached up where the sun doesn't shine. LMAO.
Regardless, thank you, anon. Just coming across this ask in my inbox really cracked me up. I needed that.
(Guy from the Dollars trilogy ask) I would totally DM you about DT and RDR… buuttt im extremely anxious, maybe one day I will :]
Hey, it's no worries at all!! As someone who struggles a lot with anxiety myself, I totally understand, and I want you to be comfortable too! I'm just glad to hear from you, and I'm grateful you reached out (apologies for being so late in responding though, ahhhh life has been crazy lately ❤️🩹)!!
I just want you to know that my asks and DMs are both always open, and it's always great to talk to fellow lovers of all that is Western! 🤠
It's a bit of a tricky question for me to answer right now because I'm currently transitioning from console (Xbox) to PC gaming. I've been wanting to learn mods and other things, but I haven't had the opportunity to invest much time into that yet. I was feeling rather overwhelmed by learning everything, so as of late, I haven't been playing too much 😔
However, I want to complete a Low Honor playthrough once I get it figured out and running! When I was on console, I usually played around 4 sessions per week, each lasting anywhere from 2-4 hours for just over a year (alternating between RDR1 and 2). That could be more or less, depending on personal stuff and work I had going on at the time. I don't know exactly how many hours I have in total on the Xbox, but I believe it was over 1000 for RDR2 and around 400 for RDR1/Undead Nightmare.
(This is not including all the time I put into content creation from my game captures and photography in Premiere, After Effects, and Photoshop when I wasn't playing)
Anyway. I am finishing up L.A. Noire at the moment, and since I work a night job, I enjoy gaming every night when I come home to unwind. Once I complete that game, I've been itching to open RDR2 up again and figure these mods out, finally! Once I do, I'll probably do nightly sessions with it.
Omg hi.. I genuinely didn’t think I’d find someone who loved both RDR and the Dollars trilogy
Hello!!
Howdy!!
Apologies it took me a few days to sit down and write a proper response, but thank you for the ask!! And I feel the same way. It's not every day that I get to meet others who share the same interests as me, so it's always a special and welcome connection!
Plus, neither of them have very big fandoms in the first place, soooo it can be hard just to meet people who are fans of either, let alone both. I feel like a lot of people who are into RDR aren't necessarily too invested in Westerns to begin with. Maybe on a casual level, having seen a few of the bigger titles in the genre. From my perspective, based on a lot of those I've talked with, it's the story and pure beauty of the game that draw people in. On the film side, many people love the genre but don't play video games or have the resources for gaming.
For me, I actually discovered RDR through my love for the Dollars Trilogy (and Spaghetti Westerns/Westerns in general). I watched a lot of Western videos on YouTube, and I didn't understand why so many comments kept referring to some guys named "John Marston" and "Arthur Morgan." I was like, who TF are these random dudes everybody seems to know but me?! I finally looked Red Dead up, and well... the rest, they say, is history.
But regardless of whether someone discovers Westerns through RDR or vice versa, the joy of meeting fellow fans who enjoy both never fades!!
So, to end this long and rambling response, thank you for dropping a line! Anytime you want to talk more about RDR and the Dollars Trilogy, my inbox and DMs are always open!!
I'm really sorry if this is super obvious but are people under eighteen allowed to interact? In your bio, it says that there's 18+ content but I'm not sure if that's an actual age restriction or just a warning for those who interact.
Again, I'm sorry if this is a stupid question. I hope you have a wonderful day.
Hello there!!
Apologies for the delay in responding, but I just want to say, it’s no bother at all! It’s not a stupid question, so don’t worry 😉 I appreciate you requesting some clarification, and I am happy to provide it for you. I generally prefer for those who interact with my blog/follow me be at least 18 simply because it makes me feel a little more comfortable in what I post.
However, I do tag everything I post/reblog so that it can be easily filtered. Although I would say the majority of my posts are SFW to start with, my blog is designed so that it is possible to interact with me and avoid all the adult content that I do feature. I would just ask that you block the tags I use to indicate all 18+ content, which are “nsfw,”“nsft,” and “lemons.” If I see that minors are interacting with posts explicitly tagged under those adult labels, I will have to block them from everything on my blog.
Hope this helps! Thanks again for the ask, and I hope you have a brilliant day in return!! 😄
Keep the faith 💜
(Also, just a side note, I use the tag "spoilers" for content dealing with major plot points in the Red Dead series. So, if there is anybody out there who doesn't want spoilers for late-game RDR2 or RDR1, feel free to block that tag as well!!)
Hi, I read your Arthur/Dutch fic on AO3 and really enjoyed it! I just want to say though that I noticed you linked your ko-fi there too and I understand it's nice to have people contribute however you really aren't supposed to link anything on there where you can get money, it's against tos of AO3 and it could actually lead to your fic being taken down or your account suspended- you can link to a blog or post that has those ways to pay just not directly on your AO3. Stay safe!
Hey!
First of all, thank you for your kind words about my fic!! I’m glad you enjoyed it! 🥰
Also, I appreciate you looking out for me! I only recently made my Ko-fi, so I never paid much attention to Ao3’s policy regarding that (I looked it up, and it’s a VERY tiny and vague part of their TOS). I figured I should respond to this publicly so other people can be informed as well!
I took it off my fic, but you can still find the link HERE or in my bio! Everything I do on this blog is during my free time, and I enjoy sharing my content with others. I’ve never been very good at asking for things, but if you enjoy my work, please consider supporting me. It would certainly help to keep me going as a full-time student and creator!!!
Do......do you think Dutch calls Arthur 'princess' in bed. Do you think Arthur is his spoiled lil princess..do you th- *gunshot*
First of all, I just want to say that I am sorry for how slow my responses to everything have been lately. Uni has been keeping me QUITE busy. Thankfully, a break is coming soon, but I have to say THANK YOU for sending asks like these because they give me energy to keep going, even if I can’t get back to you very fast 🥰
Anyhow….
Do I think Dutch calls Arthur his “princess” ? Hmm… I guess it depends on the circumstances. In a typical situation, I don’t see it as likely. BUT I decided to play along just for some fun ;)
This ended up being MUCH longer than I expected, soooo I hope you enjoy my self-indulgent filth!!! ❤️🖤

Okayyyy, I’ve been getting a lot of VanderMorgan asks lately, so I just wanted to say that I finally forced myself to take a break from some uni work this weekend to create something. I was starting to go INSANE from not writing much this semester. I had to get something off my mind, and I chose one of the many wonderful anons in my inbox to write a little story for (hopefully, I will get the chance to do more anons when the semester ends!)
The draft is complete, but I’m gonna polish it up a bit after I get some sleep and publish it then. So, heads up, if you’re interested! 👀
(It’s really just self-indulgent filth, but I haven’t allowed the boys to get laid in my writing for months. I felt like I owed them a little something special! ❤️🖤)
imagine being this intelligent and motivated. and artistic. can't relate
Hello, anon ❤︎
I try to be a positive person on here. I'm not entirely sure what the nature of this ask is, but I think you give me too much credit... If you are referring to my response to the uni ask yesterday, I tried to keep the ugly bits out of it. I don’t particularly want to talk about any of *those things* in this space.
Everybody has their own strengths and weaknesses, but on top of that, everybody has their own interests! Who cares if you’re not the best at what you do? Finding satisfaction and meaning is far more important, in my opinion. I don’t think I’m the best at anything, really (like I said before “jack of all trades, master of none”). I just try to focus on the things I find pleasure doing! Also, just because someone seems successful at something you’re not, that doesn’t mean it’s easy for them or they don’t face their own struggles in other aspects of their life.
Furthermore, everybody knows or can do something that I can’t, and I have a lot of respect for that! As the saying goes, “The whole is greater than the sum of its parts.” We can all learn from each other, and if we were perfect at everything in life, what would be the point in living if we could no longer grow as people?
So, please, anon… keep your chin up!!! I don't generally look at others differently for not having the same skillsets or knowledge as me because there isn’t a person alive who I couldn’t learn from or admire in some way (including you).
Besides, the world would be a very dull place if we all were good at and/or interested in the same things.
Good question. I have a rather insatiable curiosity, and I am studying many things. Whatever interests me and works with my schedule, really! (I always try to take as many classes as I can 🙃)
Officially, I am working towards completing two simultaneous degrees. One has an emphasis on scripted television writing and production, so that’s been keeping me quite busy! Today, for instance, I spent 11 hours on a film set working for one of the pilot episodes being produced in my thesis class. Next week, I am going to start working on the second pilot, where I will serve as an editor and the leader of the post-production sound design.
However, if I am being honest, I am MUCH more interested in feature films! I don’t honestly watch a lot of television, but the TV degree at my uni allowed for me to explore different parts of the production process that the film degree did not include. I was attracted to those opportunities, so I chose the TV path instead.
Sooo, if you ever wanna talk about movies, I am always happy to nerd out over them! I especially enjoy Spaghetti Westerns and films from the New Hollywood Era!! 😅
My other degree is in American History. For that, I am currently writing an original research thesis on Red Cloud’s War from 1866-8 and the subsequent Treaty of Fort Laramie. (By the way, this topic was loosely inspired by RDR1!)
Aside from those degrees, I’ve dabbled in a few other areas. I’ve taken courses on psychology, live-air radio production, and video game design just for fun! In other words, I keep myself pretty busy… like a jack of all trades, master of none.
Apologies for this excessive ramble, but I hope that answers your question!
💜 F
(PS - whoever sent that VDM anon today…. UFFDA. You nearly murdered me, and I thank you! ☠️)
I’m actually in the process of writing another fic right now! A little something special, inspired by a conversation on here long ago. However, I’m struggling with the setup. Since it might not be done for awhile yet and because your ask gave me some motivation, I’m gonna try my best to write up a different drabble/short fic in response to the message you sent!!
I have to work all weekend, but I hope to find some time within the next few days/week to send something your way.
I also have a few asks I am still holding onto. If you are interested in a particular idea, you are free to make suggestions! I can’t make any promises, and those take longer for me to do, but I’m always down for considerations!
(In the meantime, I think I might use a recent photo shoot for inspiration)
who do you think it's dutch's favorite: arthur or john? elaborate. my heart thinks it's arthur but my mind suspects it's john
Howdy, anon! ❤︎
My apologies for taking a few days to respond to this! But it’s been something interesting to consider. For me, I’ve always sided with the idea that Dutch favored Arthur for a multitude of reasons.
Do you want a vandermorgan song? Hell's Coming With Me by Jessta James really gives me a vandermorgan feeling!
Ahhh, dearest anon, I am ALWAYS down to talk VanderMorgan!!! ❤️🖤
I had never heard of the song or artist before, but I gave it a listen! I REALLY liked it, and I totally dug the Western vibes!! It especially appeals to how I envision their younger years, back when things were probably a little more rowdy between them... 👀
Also, it reminds me of that scene with Kurt Russell in Tombstone (which is what inspired that caption on my pic from earlier, hehe) —
Returning the favor, I have a few VanderMorgan songs I can recommend! I know I’ve mentioned Federale on this blog before, but I seriously CANNOT rant about that band enough. They’re soooo good!! “Appalachian Falls” is a song of theirs that really gives me angsty VDM vibes. There are also quite a few instrumental songs that remind me of VDM, such as Pearce Roswell's “Craniums” and “Just the Banjo.”
