Um. I guess... growth headcanons??? haha 

Okay, so I figured I might as well spill my headcanon?? Basically, after a while, Colin's body starts becoming immune to the Venom - or so he thinks. Where he normally could've transformed at will, it's no longer that easy and it becomes a liability to take him on patrols because they don't know how reliable his transformations will be (the suit under the jacket can stretch). 

He's, naturally, bummed about that - it took him a long time to tell Damian and Nell (it wasn't until they were in a really tight situation where they needed to rely on him but he didn't quite make it that they finally talked). 

Colin would probably be doing something or the other - out eating lunch, walking home from school - when he comes across something bad happening. Some thugs hassling an old lady or kids, idk. His instincts kick in and he confronts them. He mentally still flicks that switch that will turn him into Abuse, but, forgetting that he can't transform, nothing happens. He'd almost get beaten up before he strikes back, surprisingly, with the strength Abuse has, not his normal strength. And, bam! That's when he realizes that he's not losing his powers, he doesn't need to transform anymore - his muscles have gotten used to that amount of strength and don't need to be that bulk or smth idk. Comics science. 

So, anyway, he books it out of there wearing that jacket - I still haven't decided who gave it to him - but his initials are, as you can see, stitched across the back of it. Nell or Damian tells him the trouble about this after he breaks the good news to them so, the next time, he fights crime in that same jacket and announces himself - hastily - Crusading Warrior, Crusader for short. 

Yeah. Um. 

Oh, and on an unrelated note, the colours for Haste (Jai's alias) are just the inverse of Impulse's (Irey's). So red for white and white for red. Um. Yeah. The yellow's still the same though. 

So right around the time when I was like "Wow, DC, I literally give up on you forever," I though it'd be neat to play around with some of the younger characters as a... idk, new Young Justice?? Anyway, so uh... Lian Harper as Little Red ('cause having a second Red Hood is kind of confusing??), Milagro Reyes as a Green Lantern, Nell ?? as Batgirl, Irey West as Impulse, Chris Kent as another Superboy, Jai West as Haste, Damian Wayne as Robin still, annndddd I like Alan's idea for Colin Wilkes as Crusader (I hope that's okay!!).

Anyway, there are stories for a lot of things and headcanons - especially for Colin - but I am too lazy to mention them here, so... Yeah. Um. Just some really quick sketches.

EDIT: I had ideas for Sin Lance, Ramsey Robinson, and even Alan's Liam Harper (wow, I should stop roping other people's characters in...) too. Maybe I'll draw them some other time!!! uvu

Essentially an extension of this?? It'd be great to actually animate this though... Maybe I'll try this summer. 

So I'm the only one who draws Hallowe'en fanart in summer, I guess. Yup. 8I

Joking with Teal about the two of them trick-or-treating. So they each dress each other up. Damian gets Colin a customized set of fangs - the type you have to attach individually, hence Colin's difficulty in putting them on - and the rest comes from the disguise closet. Colin pulls Damian into the bathroom and wraps him in toilet paper. haha
