Blackberry dragon!
Of course I found a better brush to use for the lineart after I’d finished, but good to know for next time. Procreates process recording is a brilliant tool and fun to look back at after :D

Honeysuckle and Larkspur for June and July.
Bit more cluttered than I'd like, but I think they'll clean up ok.
Sweet pea and Hawthorn for April and May.
Starting to find the look for these, still struggling with consistency a bit but I like how they look together.
Getting back into the groove a bit, starting a bit of a series (that may or may not be finished ever, by the end there should be 12 all up)
So far, the carnation is my favourite and probably the only one that'll be staying as is. I think the rest will be adjusted so they'll all be in the same frame shape, thought having them all be different shapes would be cool, but looking at them next to each other they look a little funky.
I like the composition/posing for primrose, still a bit iffy about the details of the dragon.
The daffodil was the first one I drew, so it gets a pass on being super rough. I like the dragon's design and can see how the colours should go, but I'm gonna go back and redraw the flowers and maybe tweak the pose a bit.
~🌸Phlox Drake🌸~ The drakes that make their homes in the shrubs of Phlox flowers are quite reclusive, and hide when people are nearby. They can most often be viewed (from a distance) flitting about at dawn, when they like to sip morning dew from their flowers.
Think this was worth the wait! Took longer than I thought, the file info says I've been prodding at it since July 2021.
Struggled a little bit making this one look somewhat cohesive, phlox is one of those flowers that comes in a bunch of different pink/white combos and I wanted to show some of that while having it all still match. Also there are a lot of green/pink combos that clash horribly.
Had a lot of fun adding in the droplets everywhere, its a little thing but I think they add a lot to the overall look.
Also the beetle made the final cut, with a bit of a makeover. She's based on a pink ladybug, that I learned the existence of about two days ago 🐞
Thinking about trees and more chonky drakes.
Most of the flower drakes I've done so far, they're very agile and quick, but could probably be taken out with a fly-swat if one was fast enough. Whereas the heavier-set chestnut tree drake would probably break the swat and go right for the nose. If one flew into your window it would probably leave a sizeable crack, if not go straight through.
🌼 Just dropping by with some WIPs! 🌹
Slow going, took a few tries to find the right mix of pink and green to not look too weird and I'm still not 100% convinced.
And I'm trying to not spent quite as much time in front of the computer as I might normally. Lockdown has been extended another two weeks, so there's no need to rush.
Its a good time to get back into traditional art some more, when i have all day to pull things out and play around. Spent some time adjusting the composition of one of my rose dragon sketches to fit into a circle and transferred it onto the board.
There has been some debate among researchers about how exactly garden drakes are related to true dragons. Some argue a biological link, while others speculate that the diminutive floral creatures were a result of draconic magic leaking into the environment.
Either way, the little beasts seem to be fascinated by their larger counterparts.

Been rolling around some ideas for where the garden drakes fit into the headworld dragon lore (that I haven't added anything to in ages)
