Maybe in a season of “character building” they should have given some screentime to Jaehaera, how that goth girl named her dragon Morghul, meaning death in high Valyrian & how that sweet child was affected seeing her brother beheaded in-front of her & how that made her mother, the only present parent go mad and being left with no one to care for her & her relationship with her grandmother Alicent who will later ask her to commit murder. Otherwise I fear we will have another Bran situation on our hands.
Duty. Duty. Duty.
Its all about duty. Always. Daemon’s vision and his consequent change of heart proves it.
Rhaneyra’s duty to the prophecy and the unity of the realm and the promise she made to her father and her being crushed under that duty and paralyzed, inactive.
Daemon’s newfound duty to overturn the events of the future. His duty to his wife and him running away from it. His duty to the legacy of his House, the one thing he has always cared about more than anything and has always been excluded from.
Alicent’s banner of duty and virtue and it amounting to nothing for her this season. Her duty to the honor of womanhood, to the status of queen, a duty she never wished for herself, her duty as a mother that she is incapable of performing, her duty as a daughter that has been her undoing.
Haelena’s duty as a dragonrider and her refusal to comply. The dragonseeds duty to Rhaneyra and breaking their morals for her. Aegon’s duty to the realm that he is incapable of shouldering. Criston Cole’s duty to the oath that he breaks time and time again out of his own twisted idea of love. And above all the Dragons’ duty to their rider, the strongest bond there ever was, unbreakable loyalty and their downfall.
This is exactly why all that happens is so heartbreaking because all these twisted intertwined beings were just doing their duty to each other and to the realm all for loss and pain and just to set the same wheel in motion that their foremost duty was to.
The vision was the best thing about the whole season and it had made ryan condal’s vision with the show a lot clearer.
Been thinking about what if they play The North Remembers over the hour of the wolf. I will lose my mind!!!!
no aemond slimy targaryen chase them the way you chased a 13 year old boy who only came as a convoy running away from you on his tiny dragon. Try and sneak attack them the way you did meleys and arrax you bitter ass mongrel. OH and you not having enough dragons to fight is your making, burning sunfyre because youre a little bitch and couldnt take a sibling fight and you have your sister mentally incapicitated because you got her son killed and burned her husband you fucking idiot. you might study history and philosophy but that didnt teach you basic war strategy you dipshit.
BIGGEST AEMOND HATER TILL I DIE
It makes me quite sad for Silverwing that his first rider was THE FUCKING QUEEN ALYSSANE TARGARYEN and now she just has to make do with this pathetic drunk loser. Like gurll what happened to your taste?
I have said this before but I don’t think it registered with any of you. COME FOR CORLYS VELARYON FOR HIS BASTARDS THE WAY YOU CAME FOR RHANEYRA. Call for Corlys to be removed as Lord Of Driftmark as you all wanted Rhaenyra to be removed as heir to the throne. Most of Team Green’s arguments are “she has bastards and thats her heir and she lies and pretends that theyre not bastards”……ummm what now? Haven’t seen a single one of you misogynists with your pitchforks coming at Corlys.
Maybe I'm not understanding properly, maybe I'm missing something, but why THE FUCK is Rhaenyra still "then I'll have to fight myself but oh no, one of my advisors told me not to so I guess I won't even tho I've been saying I should fight three times per episode" like??? they can tell you not to do it, but who would actually stop you if you just. took Syrax and left.
I know they are doing it that way because we are supposed to see Rhaenyra as level-headed and not war hungry vs. Aegon who took an impulsive stupid decision and paid the price but it just makes her look like she has no agency. It makes her look all bark no bite. Like she is so helpless that if a man says "no you can't" all she can do is pout and obey like a child. What the actual fuck.
I'm TIREEEEED of what they're doing with Rhaenyra and Aegon. Both rulers are made to look fucking stupid it does not make me root for any of them.
I feel like that is what theyre trying to achieve; making them both look stupid. Neither of them were actually ever trained for it, aegon never having been considered & rhanyera having to spend all her time birthing and raising a family and always having her honor questioned until she had to remove herself from the council and the capital to ever learn strategy. And in that depiction theyre trying to justify a lot of the mistakes and consequences of war and showing us how that will lead to the destruction of Targaryen rule and legacy. Not saying that was the best way to go about it cause it makes for really bad TV especially with the way they marketed it as a team pitting against each other and again it does make it very hard to root for either.
Finally got enough Blacks content this episode. 10/10 episode just for that (-5 billion for that daemon dream i fear i will never recover)
The reason as I understand it Alicent is so fuming and miserable is because she's been basically forced by her father, who she loves despite herself btw because he's the only parent she's known for so long, into a marriage that ostracized her only friend, ally and comfort at court in her obviously difficult teen years but that marriage has amounted to nothing. There is obviously no love or passion but neither is there duty because a woman, as its been drilled in her head, has to be just a womb and despite being loyal and dutiful her children have amounted to nothing. Not just in terms of being future kings but also the way they mean nothing to her past-memories addled, openly bias to his daughter, husband. She is trapped in a marriage with no love, fearing for her children because there is no one to stand up for them, having lost her best friend, who gets to live the way she wants, her only allies being her father who has always seen her as just a pawn and a family murdering cold blooded man who could rat her out for something she didn't want done (not counting the absolutely so far useless Cristin). Everyone comparing her to Cersei has to see that Cersie had the comfort of power, knowing her son would be future King. Once you start to peel off the layers on Queen Green, you will see an absolutely powerless desperate woman who's only source of happiness, Rhanerya, was stolen from her just so she could be a pawn in a game that now everyone hates her for wanting to win.
