I don’t kid when I say Alex has rubbed off on him:
The ‘spoilers’ face when he says ‘We don’t knooooow…’ before talking about possibility of Doctor re-opening River’s timeline.
We never know [if we will see River Song again]. The Doctor's relationship with River Song is...special. Although it seems that the timeline is closed now, there may be a way for the Doctor to re-open the timeline and find her again. 'Have you seen my shirt?' or 'Where are my shoes?' You know...things a wife should look after.
