He really is the sweetest person in the world:) Alex Kingston is one of the warmest, kindest people I have ever met. It was such a privilege to meet her at Awesome Con. And on that note, I can now officially say I've met my team TARDIS (Matt Smith, Karen Gillan, Arthur Darvill and Alex Kingston)

Doctor Who returns to the big screen to feature never before seen prequel to the new season and exclusive interview with Peter Capaldi & Jenna Coleman! 

BBC Worldwide North America and Fathom Events announce the return of the longest running sci-fi television series, Doctor Who, to the big screen for a two-night special theatrical event, Doctor Who: Dark Water/Death in Heaven in spectacular 3D, starring Peter Capaldi. 
Doctor Who: Dark Water/Death in Heaven, the show’s two-part eighth season finale, will be presented in RealD™ 3D and Dolby Atmos sound (where available) on September 15 and 16 at 7:30 p.m. (local time). The event will feature The Doctor’s Meditation- a special prequel scene to the first episode of season nine - and an exclusive interview with Doctor Who stars Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman, hosted by Wil Wheaton (Big Bang Theory, Star Trek: Nemesis), in addition to the two-part season eight finale.
Tickets for Doctor Who: Dark Water/Death in Heaven in 3D can be purchased online beginning Friday, July 31 by visiting www.FathomEvents.com, or participating theater box offices. Fans throughout the U.S. will be able to enjoy the event in approximately 700 movie theaters through Fathom’s Digital Broadcast Network. Description: So, Doctor Who tumblr posted a challenge allowing people to submit artwork from Series 8 to be potentially featured at SDCC. This is my submission. I wanted to do something that seemed representative of the series, and this is what I came up with. It sort of illustrates the Doctor and Clara's relationship and how it changed over the series. The foreground image is from Deep Breath, when the Doctor pleads to Clara, “Just see me,”and the background faces are from Dark Water, when the Doctor says, "Do you really think I care for you so little that betraying me would even make a difference?"

San Diego Comic Con is right around the corner, and last year we brought all of you with us… by displaying your art on our jumbo-sized video cube! We’d like to do the same this year, but we need your help. 

If you have fanart from Orphan Black or season 8 of Doctor Who, we’d like you to submit it to us for a chance to see it at the convention!

Here’s how to submit-

1. If you have fanart from Orphan Black or Doctor Who Season 8, save it at its highest resolution, under 9MB (otherwise we won’t receive it), as a JPEG or TIFF file. 2. Send it to [email protected] and include your Tumblr username. 3. If your artwork is chosen to be featured, we’ll respond with a release form for you to sign and send back to us. 

Deadline for submissions: June 12th, 12PM EST

And don’t worry- you still have ownership of your artwork if you submit it to us and will only be giving us permission to display it. We can’t wait to see what everyone sends us!

Due to the volume of submissions we’re accepting up to 3 pieces of artwork per person, please send each one as a separate e-mail.

It’s time to flex those creative muscles again, Whovians. Whenever we put one of these together we get all of the warm fuzzies because we get to see everyone’s endless creativity and passion daily, but now we get to help show it off to an entire convention full of people!

So far we know that Peter Capaldi, Jenna Coleman, and Michelle Gomez (as well as Steven Moffat and Brian Minchin) will all be at the convention, so for Doctor Who BBC America would really like to show them how much we appreciate their work by getting a ton of Season 8 fanart from everyone. That just means artwork that features the twelfth Doctor and/or any characters who appeared in the last season. And if you have fanart of monsters or the TARDIS from any season of the show, we’d like to see those as well.

We can’t wait to see the submissions!

We took the Doctor/companion relationship [in Series 8] to a place that’s just more real, much more damaging and with more consequences. And whoever the companion is, you want to continue that idea. It can be a thrilling, exciting relationship but actually it can be a dangerous one too. That felt quite powerful and potent. What we did this year felt like what it would be like if a young girl got into a very intense friendship with an older time traveller. It’s not the romantic version, it’s not the thwarted romantic version, it’s not the friendship version, it’s not the fairytale version or the imaginary friend version. It’s probably the version that would actually happen.
