Looks like they may be announcing the new companion(s)!
So I’m watching The Magician’s Apprentice (for my third time) with my parents and 3 of my siblings(it’s their first). My younger brother and sister (who are pretty familiar with the show) are sitting on the couch across from the rest of us (my sister’s drinking tea and my brother’s only half-paying attention on his iPod), when suddenly we’re at the part where the little boy says his name is “Davros”. Then they both simultaneously gasp, their jaws dropping and eyes jolting wide as they turn to stare at the TV and then back at me as I laugh hysterically. It was one of the funniest things I’ve ever witnessed. Meanwhile, my parents and my other younger sister are just sitting there next to me extremely confused because they don’t remember who Davros is. It was so hilarious...I knew which people would react and which wouldn’t and I was aching to see my brother and sister’s reaction, and it totally exceeded my expectations. Even though I’d already known about the Davros thing when I first watched the episode yesterday, it sure was fun to see how shocking it would’ve been if I hadn’t known by watching through my siblings’ eyes.

Description: So, Doctor Who tumblr posted a challenge allowing people to submit artwork from Series 8 to be potentially featured at SDCC. This is my submission. I wanted to do something that seemed representative of the series, and this is what I came up with. It sort of illustrates the Doctor and Clara's relationship and how it changed over the series. The foreground image is from Deep Breath, when the Doctor pleads to Clara, “Just see me,”and the background faces are from Dark Water, when the Doctor says, "Do you really think I care for you so little that betraying me would even make a difference?"
