"Who did that to you?" Bastian hadn't expected Mariano to return to the little cave they'd found so soon, a few birds in hand and gaze as unreadable as the stone that surrounded them.

Bastian stood still, shirt held in his hands and pearly scars glittering in the early afternoon sun. They snaked down his side from between his shoulder blades, thin and reaching like the hungry lightning of a storm. "A mage." Bastian answered simply, dropping his shirt and shucking his pants off next before starting to wade into the river nearby.

Hot dogs, charred and smokey and satisfying to bite into lifted up the get-to-know-yous the group shared. Allison sat at Elliot’s side in a fold-up lawn chair, not bothering with hot dog buns when she could just drizzle mustard and ketchup onto the sausage and eat it from the skewer. “So how long have you been a werewolf?” She asked, brown skin made golden in the pre-dusk firelight.

Elliot time, thanks to some GOOD inspiration from @that-one-thespian

He hadn’t eaten dinner the night before. Elliot had forgotten to, between getting home and realizing the leg of his work slacks were falling apart and falling asleep in the middle of petting Gay Baby. He’d woken up late with only enough time to pull on some of Jackson’s spare black slacks and a new shirt before he had to be out the door.

A few servers had quit the week before, so Bella’s had been absolutely slammed. Add onto that the fact that he’d had to walk his bike the rest of the way home when the engine gave out halfway, and Elliot had a hectic day ahead of him. The restaurant was a quick ten minute jog away though, and he clocked in five minutes before his shift started. Right on time.
