Seeing a comment on Reddit about Lucien giving Elain “a taste of her own medicine” get hundreds of upvotes is so… ugh
Elain’s apparent ‘medicine’ is just wanting a man that’s not Lucien. Like that’s it. It’s not wanting the bond that was thrown at her on the worst day of her life. It’s not wanting a bond that she has no choice in, one that makes her uncomfortable. Elain’s ‘medicine’ is being too polite to send Lucien away, despite the discomfort his presence brings her. It’s wanting a man that brings her comfort, that risked his life for her, who was the only person who didn’t think she’d gone crazy, etc.
What is with this need to “give Elain a taste of her own medicine” or for Lucien to “put her in her place”.
Yikes.

I just can't get over how every single time Azriel is mentioned in any of the books, from the perspective of any character, he is described as beautiful. Like... I think about him way too much.
Also, I'm sick of people portraying him on social media like a creep when canonically he is the most polite and the one you go to for peace and quiet. There is even a scene when Amren is resting against him. HIM, when she doesn't have physical contact with any of the IC except on exceptional occasions. And he is so sweet in his gestures to his friends, how he bothered to get Nesta a present. And not just any present, but something he knew she would love. That and everything else, really. How he showed Feyre how to fly and helped train the Valkyries (who were sighing over him even though males terrify them).
He is just... I love him.

I think he just wants to be loved. He wants to be chosen.
I don’t think he’s jealous of the mating bonds between Feysand and Nessian, I think he’s jealous of the love.
If he’s so desperate for a mating bond, why is he pining for someone who already has a mate?
And I don’t think it’s because he feels entitled to Elain. Personally, I think people are just putting Rhys’s words in his mouth.
He has feelings for someone who actually shares them. That’s something he didn’t have for 500 years of pining for Mor.
So yeah, of course he’s questioning if the Cauldron was wrong. But it’s not because he’s desperate for a mate.

If I see ONE MORE COMMENT ABOUT ELAIN BEING MADE FOR SPRING COURT IM GOING TO CROAK.
Elain is a GARDENER. Not a flower.
She is SPRING, where LIFE blooms back into the world. Where animals come out of hibernation. Where flowers grow again. The most special time for gardeners as they see all the preparations they made in the winter come to life.
Why in the fuck would Elain go to the one court where gardeners are not needed? For Lucien? He’s not even there either. He’s shacked up with a cursed queen in the HUMAN LANDS. Literally the complete OPPOSITE SIDE of the continent.
Who actually sits with her in the garden??? Lucien has NEVER sat with her in her gardens. Interesting huh? They are always seated inside. Never in a place where Elain would be comfortable.
I don’t know how much clearer shit can get honestly.
“She needs the sun” > no she doesn’t. She needs someone to pay enough attention to her to know she’s not what she portrays all the time.
Feyre and Nesta both saying Elain would love the Spring Court is a direct representation of THEM NOT UNDERSTANDING their own sister.
Why do you think Rhys says in the bonus chapter that ya Elain gardens but in order to bring flowers to bloom one has to get their hands dirty?? Was this for fun?? NOOOOO
It’s to show us as readers that we, along with everyone else except Rhys and Azriel apparently, have overlooked Elain completely. Feyre even does and he calls her out on it in the bonus chapter.
The blatant disregard of her imagery is honestly laughable. Yet people are saying Lucien represents the sun because of his day court heritage? Where? Never has his imagery been the sun. It’s ALWAYS fire and spell cleaver.
Elain is at home in the night court. With her sisters. With her friends. With her chosen family. Trying to push her out will never work because as Feyre promised her mother:
THEY WILL STICK TOGETHER.

Imagine being alone for five centuries and then you meet this girl who is so self-assured and sweet and she wants to bake for you and listen to you and she needs your help carrying heavy bags of soil and likes to share her ideas for her gardens with you until 2 in the morning. She seems to be the only one who notices when you're late to dinner and has a secret wit that no one else has even tried to know. She's the opposite of war and dungeons and torture and everything you've been forced to acclimate to and unlike your other flirtations, she seems to reciprocate your feelings.
And then imagine that you're told to stay away from her.

He set her down gently on the foyer carpet, having carried her in through the front door.
Elain peered up at his patient, solemn face.
Azriel smiled faintly. “Would you like me to show you the garden?”
She seemed so small before him, so fragile compared to the scales of his fighting leathers, the breadth of his shoulders. The wings peeking over them.
Azriel, graceful as any courtier, offered her an arm. I couldn’t tell if she was looking at his blue Siphon or at his scarred skin beneath as she breathed, “Beautiful.”
You know the whole reason why I haven’t left Tumblr after all these years is because this site is so introvert friendly.
I don’t have the attention span or much less the strength to keep up with Discord conventions (bc apparently fandom is more in Discord these days?? I am not a talkative person to even take part in a group chat *shivers*) or follow with whatever’s going down on Twitter.
