Before act 2 comes out I'm calling it:
That green book that Viktor walked out of the lab with (the project that Sky was bringing to Viktor the night she died) is what Viktor is trying to do now out of guilt for what the Hexcore/he did to Sky. We are going to find out exactly what her idea was.
I don't think his emotions are gone, his priorities have just changed now that he doesn't recognize himself. He WAS sad to leave Jayce, sad that those people were suffering, and happy to be able to "cure" them. He smiles, he frowns, he EMOTES.
He's just being manipulated with hallucinations of Sky by the Hexcore. And whatever Sky wanted is being twisted into whatever the Hexcore wants.

im either going to be our secondmost plagued by visions prophet guy tomorrow or im going to jail for viktor abuse. based on the poster where his hand is stretched out + viktors overall theme of the horror of losing your body and agency to physical disability. also slightly informed by the subplot with ekkos tree, and viktor and magic being associated with plants the whole show thus far. i was going to have him rooted to the ground in some way but it felt a bit too far out there? idk. i was thinking about it, anyway. might also be kicking myself tomorrow

Funniest thing about Viktor is he just walks into places. He just walked into the academy for a job. He just walked right into where Jayce was about to kill himself. He walked right to the undercity and became Jesus. For a man who can’t walk well he does a great job of just showing up out of no where.
