Lailah: What do you mean?
Zaveid: You know... *makes crude gesture*
Sorey: *blissfully unaware of any vulgar meanings*
Lailah: Oh my! *blushes and holds hands to cheeks* No, I was simply talking about his swordplay.
Zaveid: Yeah, so was I. *wink*
Mikleo: I sense there's something disturbing going on over here.
Sorey: *blissfully starstruck by Mikleo's sudden appearance*
Zaveid: Nothing disturbing, Mickeyboy! We're just wondering what you think of Sorey's swordplay lately, that's all.
Mikleo: *thoughtful hand on chin pose* Oh. Well, he's certainly been getting in extra practice. I think he's improved quite a lot.
Zaveid: So you'd say that Sorey knows how to use his fiery sword?
Mikleo: Definitely. He's gotten really good at thrusting and lunging.
Zaveid: Plunging?
Mikleo: No, lunging. When you bend your knees and--
Zaveid: Ah, so that's Sorey's secret. His technique's all in the knees.
Mikleo: They're an essential part of moving quickly at the right angle and level.
Zaveid: Of course. Do the knees affect the depth of his thrust when he plunges his slick sword inside?
Mikleo: Inside a hellion, you mean, when he uses his purification powers? Well, he can control his power and strength...
Sorey: Sure can! Mikleo, want to go practice?
Mikleo: Fine. I'm coming.
Zaveid: Just from that? I'd say Sorey's improved.

I don’t think you guys understand how much I love zaveid. (I really hope we get some backstory animation about him, Edna, and Eizen in Zestiria the X)

THOUGHTS: I sat down and thought about it and you have to wonder why Zaveid didn’t kill Eizen for like—hundreds?? of years when he probably had a lot of chances to.  I mean there’s the part where he wasn’t sure if Siegfried would even work against him but Edna mentions that she sees Zaveid on Spiritcrest sometimes but doesn’t know why.  Presumably to kill Eizen but I mean he never does so—I feel like he chickens out each time.  I REALLY WANT THE SCENE OF THEM KILLING EIZEN IN THE ANIME AND I NEED EDNA AND ZAVEID CRYING.

Sorey & Mikleo: Childhood Friends

The dream shared by two friends that doesn’t fade

They were both raised in the same village. Since childhood they’ve shared a great love of ruins and, if they start a discussion, it never ends. Sorey says he won’t forget his dream of exploring ruins and then he fell asleep. Mikleo wholeheartedly believes in that and continues traveling today.

Edna & Eizen: Siblings Eizen & Zaveid: Former Friends

Friends who made a promise and kept it without fail

Edna, who’d been left behind by her brother Eizen, became abandoned with the dragon’s appearance. When Eizen realized he would become a dragon, he begged of his friend Zaveid that, if the time came, to kill him when Eizen took on the dragon’s form. Fulfilling this request would confirm there was no hope of salvation for Eizen. Zaveid fulfilled this promise together with Edna.

I’m starting to do some small translations again now that I’m out of school too because it’s been too damn long and I still have SO MANY things to translate. So I’m working together with @ravenbow to get these relationship descriptions translated from the 20th Anniversary Memoria book. These are the Zestiria ones.
