Not wanting Anya to dislike/hate them despite CLEARLY hurting her feelings with their actions.

The funniest thing is that Twilight and Yor had this whole conversation as if they’d forgotten Nightfall was even there. Because to them - to Twilight in particular - she really wasn’t. In all these panels, he is just looking probably lovingly at his wife.

The bottom panel is everything! Bond resting his head on the sofa arm, Anya looking up at her papa with a big wide smile and eyes full of love. Loid looking across to Yor with heart eyes and a genuine smile. And then there is Yor, Yor who is self conscious at times of how far to go and if she is good enough at being a wife, being a mother, being part of the family, and here she is reacting to Loid telling her, you are all of those things, and are the only one who will be. Hand on her chest, eyes locked onto Loid’s as she drinks in his adoration and praise. This, this is the Forger family, in their home, in comfy clothes, relaxing and being together.

-Jokes aside, it’s kinda cute seeing Loid worried. If you didn’t think he cared, this is surly proof.

Loid and Yor can tell themselves that it’s a paper marriage all they want, but this and the (soon to be animated) tennis arc are proof that they would be in shambles if that were actually true. They’re in love, and everyone knows it EXCEPT FOR THEM!!

Dog Dad Loid

So, I just reread some chapters and can I just say…

It might be the mask, but Twilight looks like he’s about to cry. This man is all to willing to go all John Wick for a dog that’s still alive. This whole chapter better get an Anya’s castle/Loidman style sequence when it’s animated. Please. I’ve been on my best behavior.

This is also just another example of Twilight being a genuinely kind person. I know this is pretty well established at this point. My guy wouldn’t shoot to kill a dog launching itself to attack him while wearing a bomb. Getting vengeance on the people who abused his dog in the past isn’t out of the ordinary for someone of his type, but the fact he took Bond-who in his mind is completely untrained for any kind of combat-with him is going the extra mile.

Lastly, there is the “abused you and your friends” line which… it’s very hard to reread old chapters after Twilight’s war flashbacks and not get a little bit into the feelings whenever Twilight talks about someone’s friends and whoever might’ve hurt them in some way. 

I could probably go on about this comedy focused chapter, but I think I’ll go pet my dog instead. Good boy deserves pets.

Absolutely agreed with all of this, but I really want to highlight this:

Now imagine what happens when he finds out about Anya’s true backstory.

Imagine what happens when he finds out what those same scientists (or the peers of the same scientists) DID TO HIS DAUGHTER.

Loid and Yor are going on a warpath at the climax of this series, I swear. It’s not a matter of if they’re going to mow down a bunch of evil scientists, just a matter of when.

Since Anya has can also read the minds of animals do you think she just has random conversations with Bond throughout the day? Because I would spend all day taking to my dog and cat if I could read their minds.

In the manga, when Handler tells Anya to look after Bond, she clearly wasn’t just talking about the doggy. Which makes Anya’s little nod sweeter, because she understood Sylvia’s asking her to look after the other war dog - her papa 🥹

Which also makes this bit later on in the manga more poignant and revealing. Everything that Twilight says to Bond here are words he himself must have wanted to tell himself. He *knows* he shouldn’t go as hard as a spy because he needs to go home to people who love him. And he *knows* he wants to be Forger first and foremost… But Twilight Brain (TM) gets in the way and so it’s easier to just say all this to the family dog than to have a proper conversation with his own heart

😭 this is so sweet and moving. Twilight wants to be a Forger first, just like Bond 😭
