SO i finished editing the next 5tl chapter but my god how i’m feeling anxiety over whether it’s good or not,,, jeez honestly, this is ridiculous.
…so that was terrifying, you know, in front of 50 billion people.
Am I sensing an update for 'ten minutes'??? PLEASE SHARE!!! How much have you two done so far and how can we prepare for it?!?!
I will say we’re not finished with it yet, but it can’t be that much longer. We still have one key scene to go, and then we have to go through it a couple of more times, but that won’t take as long, as we’ll mainly be fixing small things then. We hope to be able to finish it soon and get it up for your guys to enjoy while you’re all stuck at home, enjoying quarantine. As for how to prepare… just read the whole fic again or and get excited for a special little thing you’ve been waiting for basically since some of the earlier chapters 👀👀
Actual Working Title

The thing about knitting is it’s much harder to fear the existential futility of all your actions while you’re doing it.
Like ok, sure, sometimes it’s hard to believe you’ve made any positive impact on the world. But it’s pretty easy to believe you’ve made a sock. Look at it. There it is. Put it on, now your foot’s warm.
Checkmate, nihilism.
This is a powerful positive message..
I’m literally reading a book right now (Burnout by Emily and Amelia Nagoski) that says this is scientifically sound.
There have been studies done on rats and dogs where they develop learned helplessness in the animals by giving them impossible tasks. Eventually the animals stop trying, even when the task stops being impossible. (I.e. put a rat in a maze with cheese it can’t get to until it develops learned helplessness, then put the cheese somewhere it can get to it and it won’t even try.) But once they show the animals they CAN do something - i.e. physically moving the rat to the cheese - the learned helplessness goes away.
No one can move you to your cheese for you, but the book says DOING something - which they define as “anything that isn’t nothing” can help. Make a food. Work in the garden. Clean a thing. Do a favor for a friend. Call your elected officials.
Knit a sock.
If you feel overwhelmed by existential despair, do something. It doesn’t have to be big. It just has to be anything that isn’t nothing.
When will the next chapter to 5tl be out?
gahhhhh I wish I could say,,,,, that chapter is a bitch and I'm working on it continuously bUt it's a really, really tough one. also will probably be like 20k because I don't know when to stop,,

And the comments to people who specifically acknowledge that English isn’t their first language. Like seriously, not only are they providing free content, they’re doing so using a second, third, or whatever language. My second best language is French, and trust me, you don’t want to know how that would go. It’s online bullying, pure and simple. Is there a way to report and ban someone from AO3 for comments made?
the way chiclettes writes implicates that they are using their second language as well, which makes it all the more baffling (or then they aren’t that bright. go figure). idk what stick is up their arse but definitely one they imagine belonging to paul
ao3 doesn’t allow blocking or banning users, but authors can moderate comments so that they become visible only after the author has approved. that doesn’t stop them from seeing the hate, though, and they’d be the only ones without other users being able to come to the “rescue” (i love seeing people gang up on chiclettes. good job babies). but that’s up to the authors to decide

(Epiphone has a great story about this guitar as Paul’s go-to for years, and which became a favorite of John and George’s as well. And in an interview with GuitarPlayer, Paul says that it’s his favorite to this day.)
